This ground floor unit in the L building was perfect! The condo was clean, updated, well furnished, and the view was spectacular. We enjoyed breakfasts on the lanai, jogging on the beach in the early mornings, and the close proximity to either the beach or the pool. I can't wait to go back!

We loved this ocean front ground floor condo!!! It was great to sit on the lanai and watch the whales or just relax. The condo was well equipped. The only drownside was that the internet provided by the Papakea Resort was far from adequate

Maui dream vacation

We jut got back from our stay at the Papakea. Everything was as expected and more from this unit. We spent countless hours on the Lanai watching the whales and an occasional sunset. You will not find a better view. We zip lined, whale watched and went to a Luau. But more often than not we just relaxed at the pool or on the Lanai. Weather was perfect. Whales were everywhere. If you want a quiet resort away from the crowds but still close to everything, this is it. We will be back for sure.

The kitchen was huge, the living room was also large. The bathroom had 2 sinks and the bedroom was very comfortable. The unit was very clean and we loved the view. Great & relaxing stay

Really enjoyed the unit. It's just as advertised and very convenient. Would definitely book this property again. The kitchen is well stocked and there was stuff in the closet to use at the beach. Some quick notes: Google map and bing map show a larger beach outside the wall. This wasn't our experience. Not quite as much of the beach shows. No problem though because you're just about a 10 second walk from a very long stretch of beach. Good coffee (and breakfast) shop across the street; about a 2 min walk. There's some traffic as people walk to the beach. Although it was a lot less than I had anticipated.

Aloha, We stayed in this condo for 10 days in January 2011. This was our 2nd time renting from Bonnie as we stayed previously in her studio condo at Maui Kai. We were a little concerned with renting a ground unit condo due to privacy but found the advantages outweighed any privacy issues. It was great that we could pull our loungers out into the sunshine at any time without having to get up early to drag and save a lounger on the grassy area. The lanai provided us great viewing opportunities for whale watching and the sunsets. The condo was well equipped with everything we could need. The grounds at the Papakea were immaculate and well maintained. The complex was quiet and we met some very nice people. Once again Bonnie was very accomodating with meeting our needs and a pleasure to deal with. I'm sure we will rent from Bonnie again.

We stayed in Papakea L-108 in February, 2008 for 6 nights. Was just an awesome place to stay. The entire condo was updated and fantastic. The air-conditioners in both the bedroom & living/kitchen area were much needed. To be able to walk out unto the lanai and then the yard was not only convenient but beautiful. The Weber grills around the pool were great and the room was convenient to them. Some of the units have not been updated and really need renovating but this was again, fabulous. Definetely will book this unit next time we go. Bonnie Chadwick made the reservations simple & easy and also responded quickly to a quesiton we had. We saw many whales while sitting on the lanai. It was defintely a lovely, lovely place.

Another peaceful, wonderful visit to Papakea! The whales, turtles and the sunsets had our cameras and binoculars put to good use! We had one extremely memorable sunset as a huge humpback started breaching right at the moment the sun was setting...sounds like something right out of a tour book, but we were lucky enough to experience it! We have been coming to the Papakea for several years now. This is our 2nd trip here with our son who is now 18 months old. The condo was perfect for us – great access to the beach, pool & grass area. Enjoyed watching Whales and had an opportunity to see a monk seal – she beached herself right in front of the unit. Had beautiful sunny days – can’t recall better weather. Six short nights here. Watching the whales and the turtles. (Saw more whales here than at the observation point south of here) Condo has nice touches and was most enjoyable. Great fish sandwiches at the Fish Market. Good Salads/Sandwiches/Lobster at Java Jazz & Soup Nutz. (Good music too!) Pleasant stay – glad we came. Aloha! We really enjoyed the condo! And the sun! Where we live it seems all we get is rain. The view from our room was beautiful….the condo is too! Tennis was really fun it was Nate and Taylor’s first time playing! The pool was cool and so was the putt-putt course. We went snorkeling and boogy boarding. It was a semi-relaxing vacation.

Aloha Bonnie, Your condo was so much more than the pictures portrayed. We totally enjoyed our stay and your kindness and hospitality. Although the weather didn’t cooperate, we took advantage of every minute of sunshine. Our children stayed in other condo’s on the property but since yours was the best, we had a hard time getting them to stay in their rooms. Aloha! We walked into the condo and all we could say was WOW! Many thanks to the Eisler’s form South Boardman, MI for their referral, and many thanks to Bonnie for the great unit and the fabulous gifts on our arrival, all was used and enjoyed. The best vacation we have ever had – always something to do, but a great place to relax also. The unit was more than comfortable (just like home). The weather & whale watching was “super”. Once again, we really enjoyed our stay in L108, and all the updates to the décor. All the extra touches were much appreciated. We relaxed & stayed around the apartment most of the time – there is always something to watch – the whales, surfers, snorkelers, canoes being paddled, cruise ships, para-sailers, etc. (and a crab blow up onto the grass during a storm). Long morning walks (with hopes of burning off a few calories) bring friendly greeting from just about everyone passing by. Take out at Okazuya Deli up the street is delicious – also Mama’s Rib’s & Rotisserie at Napili plaza has good home style food. We saw some spectacular sunsets from out lanai. Our favorite little cat – similar in color to “crooked tail” was not around this year and we sure missed our little friend. Now back to the cold & rain of the coast of BC, but we will return. Mahalo

Ahhh…what a way to begin a New Year! The condo is fantastic – we’ve stayed many times at Papakea from 1992 to present…all units in the ‘F’ building next door and this condo (L108) makes them all look…well, like low class. L108 is spectacular with the tile, granite, amenities, etc. We have a new favorite unit and will definitely be back! The whale watching was breathtaking…this morning an enormous Humpback put on quite a show directly in front of the condo…breaching, slapping the water with his/her flippers and tail – it had the whole place clapping! Hula grill and Leilani’s at Whalers are both fabulous…Yum! Mahalo for everything!

My husband and I enjoyed a week in this beautiful condo with our 1 year old, and next time will stay longer. The nice guest basket upon arrival was a welcoming touch. The condo is well decorated and comfortable, and the air conditioning is nice touch. We loved being able to walk right out our lanai to the grass, beach and pool. We used the kitchen every morning and cooked fresh ahi several times for dinner. (Sometimes the 1 year old just wasn’t up for dinning out.)Beautiful condo, beautiful location and beautiful vacation!Mahalo!

Loved the straight on view of the sunsets from the lanai every night. I obsessed about where to stay and am glad we got your unit (L108). It was even better than I expected and we were very comfortable. The little cat ended up with the name Captain Nubs for the Nubby tail and a squinty eye when we 1st met. He has loved the water, the bridge at the end of the property, chasing the birds and the cats – we call them Bob and Robert! We had a great meal at the Hula Grill at Whaler’s Village. Mahalo! 3/28/2005 We have just returned from 10 days on Maui. It was our first trip to Maui and we have never had as much fun or been so relaxed! The condo was clean, well equipped and well organized. This is our third time at this apartment/condo and we continue to love it, especially with the new furniture etc. We enjoyed the new cd player- listening to our music as the sun went down was great! There were lots of whales, but not as active as another year we were here. All in all just a wonderful vacation and we have to return next year.

all four of us want to try and express how much pleasure we recieved enjoying the beauty of your Valley Isle and the comfort of Papakeas L108. Its location to the view and the beach, its amenities - including putters, golf balls, ice chest, grass mats and a very comfortable sofa bed. We even got to witness the annual owners metting and roasting of the pig. We reveled in each sunset, split our sides at Warren and Annebells, zipped our way across canyons screaming our lungs out, snorkeled in Mololini, Lanai and tasted pinapple wine at Tedashchi. What we will remember is out time in Maui and the sunsets at L108. We left several cans of coke in the fridge and spice cabinet, we hope that next year we can contact you again to arrange another set of wonderful memories.
