This immaculate home is located directly on the Albermarle Sound with a private dock and swimming platform. Enjoy a (FREE) solar heated swimming pool just feet from the Sound. We also use a salt chorinator, which is much healthier than chemicals and better for the skin. An acre of beautiful landscaped yard and breathtaking waterfront views are yours to enjoy!
There are two large Master suites with Andersen french doors that open to sitting areas where you can enjoy the serenity of the water with your morning cup of coffee and listen to the variety of native birds. The home, with touches of Cape Cod decor throughout, has a total five large bedrooms, three full baths, a large indoor jacuzzi tub, a 7-person outdoor hot tub, wood floors, French Doors onto a patio, a gas fireplace, and a beautiful piano.
Also, the bedroom areas are on either end of the house and separated by the common living area (living room, kitchen and dining room). So, there is much more privacy in situations where there are two families or if the adults want to be separated from the kids (smile). The property is located on nearly an acre of beautifully landscaped grounds with several large pine trees where the kids can explore the hideaways, nooks and crannies, and spend hours swimming in the lake- like Sound or in the new pool with Soundfront views. Use the firepit in the backyard for smores!
Guests have told us time and time again that you can't explain the true essence of the home, you have to be here and experience it! There are (2) two-person kayaks at the home for your use and a hammock for relaxing in the back yard. You can catch crabs from the dock with the crab pots we provide, take a swim in the Sound, or just enjoy breathtaking sunsets. Why the Owner Chose Southern Shores
We have been visiting the Outer Banks for several years. We wanted a quiet location to spend time with our family. We were so blessed to find a property right on the sound with an existing dock and all on one level. Its located on the mainland but still on the most beautiful waterfront and the best sunsets at the Outer Banks. Its a 5-7 minute drive right over the bridge to the main Outer Banks attractions so its close to the "action" but private for those of us who truly like a vacation away from it all.
The Unique Benefits at this House
An acre of flat land with a beautiful back yard right on the Albemarle Sound. The crabbing right off the dock is excellent. The water is clean with a sandy bottom and about 4 1/2 feet deep as far as you can see! Our hot tub is open year-round and the in-ground salt chlorinater pool is open from May-October. The home has been renovated and accomodates 2-3 families very comfortably with 5 bedrooms and 3 full baths. We provide one canoe and one kayak for your use in the sound. We have several repeat renter families that have been coming to the Outer Banks for a long time. Once they stay at our place, they say nothing else compares and its like staying at a home rather than a rental property.

Although the home is very family friendly, I just returned from a "girls" getaway and it was a perfect place to just relax and enjoy. The home is very spacious, well designed and comfortable. We used the pool each day - still warm in October. There was little traffic, no noise and a great deal of privacy. I would highly reccomend this lovely home for all. We plan to "getaway" here again next year.

We just returned from this wonderful vacation home. We had a fabulous time staying on the sound. The kids (and adults) loved swimming, kayaking and catching crabs at the dock on the property. The swimming pool was in constant use since the temperature was between 95 and 100 degrees each day. The house was perfect for our families- 6 adults and 4 young children and a baby. There was plenty of room for a quiet nap when needed. Ken was very helpful with answers to questions and any issues that might occur. We were close enough to enjoy activities like shopping and putt putt yet we were in a quiet private area when we returned to the house. We never even went to the beach because we had everything we needed right at this wonder vacation spot. to quote our family " this was the best vacation ever". Thanks Ken and Tawyana for sharing such a lovely place.

I just wanted to drop you a little note telling you how much we enjoyed ourselves this past week! Your home has to be the most inviting, comfortable, BEAUTIFUL home we have ever stayed in. We loved everything about it! By Wednesday, we were trying to think of a way to buy it from you LOL Thank you so very much for the use of it, you take pride in your home, and it shows. it was by far the BEST vacation any of us have had in a very long time. The girls had a blast laying in the sun, and enjoying the pool, while the boys were out on the dock fishing and crabbing from sun up till sun down! This has got to be one if not the best rentals for this area! The view and the privacy, by far, cannot be beat! The owners have thought of every ammenity possible-they are a pleasure to talk to and work with. This home is much more than meets the eye and I can honestly say that we can't imagine staying anywhere else while visting the outer banks! Even in the "off season", my young children (3,5, and 8)were completely satisfied and entertained! We will be back and cannot wait to sit once again in those red chairs by the ocean!

We love the outer banks.The people are so friendly there. Unlike most rental properties, your house actually felt like we were staying at a friends home. Our son loved crabbing and 3 of us caught a string ray off the pier. Our favorite features were the seperate living quarters on either end of the home and the pool of course.

July, 2008 We had the best time in your house. We were two families and never felt like there was not enough space. Each family had its own side of the house and it worked out great. The kids loved the kayaks and the crabbing and the pool was fabulous. I want to thank you for providing such a great place for us to share our summer vacation. Today is the first day I'm back on line after our trip- just wanted to let you know what a fabulous house you have!
