- The Looe Key National Marine Sanctuary is widely regarded as on of the most spectacular reefs in the Florida Keys and just a 15 minute boat ride away. Henry Flagler’s railroad to Key West turned the remote island of Bahia Honda Key into a tropical destination. Today, the island is home to one of Florida’s southernmost state parks, known for beautiful beaches, magnificent sunsets and excellent snorkeling. To the west of Looe Key lies the wreck of Adolphus Busch, Sr., sunk in 110 feet of water in 1998. an artificial reef bursting with marine life. This wonderful activity brings you as close to the marine environment as you can get. Kayaking is a wonderful way to explore the Florida Keys back country and be one with the wildlife that call it home. Down on Sugarloaf Key beside the airport is this strange little brown building called the Bat Tower. The Hemingway House in Key West is a must for cat lovers. The Turtle Hospital in Marathon has daily tours of their facility. The Dolphin Research Center is in Marathon....moreless

Perfect boating setup
Perfect boating setup
Excellent location with unobstructed view of the Atlantic Ocean. Boating setup is excellent, with plenty of dockage, padded standoffs to protect boats from the seawall, mooring whips, fish cleaning station, the works. We brought our brand new custom Dorado here and were so pleased with the property that I hesitate to write a glowing review since higher demand might make it more difficult for us to rent this place in the future. Condition of the house is excellent, with a very up-to-date, well-maintained interior. Everything was very comfortable and the perfect base for our fishing and diving adventures and regular quick drives down to Key West for dining and nightlife. Venture Out has excellent amenities (boat launch, fuel dock, washdown station, pool, convenience store etc) and was very safe & secure. We had a fantastic time in the Lower Keys and this place was an ideal home base for us. The owners were great to deal with, we look forward to returning soon!

Spectacular exactly as shown and described we come to do a lot of fishing and it was fantastic fishing on the golf and then in the Atlantic Ocean The view from the house was awesome and the elevator was a great asset to the house we are not handicapped but we love to use the elevator saves a lot of steps especially when bringing up suitcases etc. The owners of the property were very helpful on any questions that we had I would highly recommend this home I can't wait to come back for our next adventure thanks again I rate this property five stars

My wife and I stayed for one week and enjoyed the home. The home was clean and had everything you would expect in someone's personal home. View was of open water which is a must wherever we stay. We did not realize how small the living area is from pic. There is plenty of room for two if you don't have fishing gear that needs to be secured daily. The bottom floor is locked and you have to either put all your gear into the elevator or tote it to the living quarters. We used the second small bedroom for storage, however if there were more than two of us, it would be in the small living quarters. I had my boat there and was perfect docking for my 26' . This was my first experience with venture out. It is basically a retirement community and everyone down in the keys called it Denture out. I now know why. My captain brought boat down and launched for us which was ok'd by manager however by the time I arrived 4hrs later my trailer was booted by security. You can only keep one vehicle at home, 10mph limit with hundreds of stop signs and golf carts..just a bunch of rules you would expect living in a community of retirees. Not my thing being I'm not a senior citizen. I LOVE the location geographically for fishing especially because one morning I'm bonefishing flats on the gulf and in the afternoon I'm in Atlantic at Looe key snorkeling with 300lb Goliaths! Overall good vacation spot however I probably will not stay at Venture again until I get my AARP card.

Manager response: We have owned this home for over 10 years, we are not senior citizens. Every place in the key's have their share of older people, we all want to be where it's warm, older & younger. This time of the year kids are in school Oct.& Nov. Our home is in a 5 STAR GATED RESORT for ALL AGES. If you want to count stop signs there are 3 stop signs to go to our home. We have over 200 sf under house to store fishing & boating gear with rod holders for 8 fishing poles. Most people keep them on their boat at our PRIVATE DOCK AT THIS HOME. We our in a gated community with a few rules to keep things neat & clean. As far as the boot [lock] on boat trailer, all you have to do is pay 4.00 per day for secured trailer parking when you park your trailer.
