About the owner: Susan and I built our Bear Valley vacation home so our daughters could grow up learning and loving summer and winter activities in an alpine wonderland. Our girls are grown now and we want to share the house with other families.
Why the Owner Chose Bear Valley: Our lot on Quaking Aspen Road is proximate to activities (the lake and village) and is in a very quiet location. It looks out into wooded and open common spaces, has an excellent southern exposure and a nice view of Osborne Ridge.
The Unique Benefits at this House: This house is one of several truly unique homes in Bear Valley. A modern 'timberframe', its' posts and beams are fit together with mortise and tenon joints held in place by wooden pegs. Like a large piece of furniture, the exposed frame is an expression of the wood butcher's art. Engineered to carry huge winter snow loads, and withstand California's earthquakes, it feels very comfy and secure even during the most challenging winter storms.
