We enjoyed our lengthy stay at this lovely mountain home on a quiet lane with easy and quick access to town (15 minute walk). Entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park was just a few miles up the road. The living room with its gorgeous view, comfortable furniture and satellite TV was the best feature. The kitchen was well supplied, except for cereal/salad bowls (only four for the five of us); a few more spoons would have been handy. We would suggest the following improvements: 1) use cotton rather than flannel sheets in the summer; 2) widen or straighten out the driveway, to make backing out easier, by moving out further or removing entirely some of the large stones on the right side; 3) add a shower to the upstairs bathroom tub; and 4) clean up some of the landscaping around the house...flower beds were unkept. The owner had excellent contact with us and was accommodating to our family's needs, and we are grateful. Be attentive to the possibility of wildlife in the neighborhood. We were greeted upon arrival by a small black bear in the neighbor's yard; also saw wild turkeys and a cayote in the vicinity. We enjoyed our stay and would consider returning; the rental was priced competitively.

Beautiful home. All amenities that you would need on everyday basis, except personal items which you need to bring. Very close to town. Awesome view from large front window. Across the street from Fall River. Can hear the stream, but not actually on the stream. Only problem we had were the beds were a little uncomfortable. Old box springs that squeaked and wiggled a lot.

Great Location in Estes Park
Great Location in Estes Park
We enjoyed the location of the Retreat at Fall River. It allowed us easy access to all the fun things that Estes Park and the surrounding area have to offer. One evening while walking home from town, we became aware of a giant bull elk standing just feet away from the path. Luckily, he didn't mind that we were there! We found the property to be as the owner, Sue, described. The picture windows provided spectacular views right from the living room. We made use of the well-equipped kitchen, as well as the grill out in back, to prepare a few meals. The beds were comfortable after long day hikes. The main level shower was a bit forceful due to lots of water pressure. I would suggest bathing children in the upstairs tub instead.. Overall, the cabin was clean and comfortable. The property is not brand spanking new, and could use some repairs, but it certainly did the job. The owner was helpful and available for concerns. We will check on availability the next time we plan to go to Estes Park!

Million dollar view
Million dollar view
My wife and I spent last week at this house. We enjoyed our stay. The booking process was easy and smooth. The place is homey. It has a beautiful view of the mountains. You can see and hear Fall River across the street. It is a pleasant walk from downtown (+\- one mile). It has a comfortable king bed in the master. The master bath is a bit small and dated. It has a tub shower. The upstairs bath has a tub but no shower. I would describe the house as 2 BR with a loft. It could use some overhead lighting over the dining table.

About the owner: Mom and Dad built this beautiful home for their retirement. Now that they're gone, we've opened up the family get-away to visitors of Estes Park, the Rocky Mountain National Park and the surrounding National Forests.
Why the Owner Chose Estes Park:
All of our guests comment on the big windows that have such a wonderful view of the mountains and the river out front. You'll enjoy watching a variety of wildlife from the comfort of the living room or the deck in front, as well as the backyard. Mule deer, elk, wild turkeys, bobcat, mountain lion, fox, bear, golden eagles, marmots, stellar jays, magpies, coyotes, porcupine, etc. etc. etc. have all been seen strolling through around the neighborhood.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Avoid the hassle of traffic and parking in town. Climb to the top of Old Man Mountain from the back door, or walk to the Elkhorn Lodge for horseback riding in less than 5 minutes. The Big Horn Cafe is only a 10 minute walk and Downtown shopping and dining is about a 15 minute walk. Performance Park Amphitheater is an easy 10 minute walk to outdoor concerts and other events throughout the year.
