Totally renewed in the past few months, this ground floor apartment ideal for 2 people in Padova is part of the Papafava dei Carraresi Palace, descendent of the rulers of Padova in the 14th century. The living room and the bedroom are facing the spacious courtyard, and are flooded with light. The kitchen and the bathroom have both a large window facing Via Marsala, which is a central secondary road with very little traffic. You can have your meals in the spacious living room or more cozily in the kitchen. The living room has a comfortable double sofa bed in case you need some extra sleeps. The apartment has 2 accesses, one through the main entrance hall of the palace and the second one through a back courtyard with a big palm tree, here, upon request a car park is available for the guests of this apartment for rent in Padova.
The Papafava dei Carraresi palace was designed by the architect Gianbattista Novello and built in the second half of the 18th century, it is located in the very centre of Padova and today it is divided into different properties. This apartment still belong to a member of the Papafava dei Carraresi family and it is called Mezzà, because in Venetian dialect it means half and even if its ceilings are 3 m high it is only half of the reception room's ceilings of the second floor, it used to be the site for the administration of the estates and properties of the Papafava dei Carraresi family.
This holiday apartment in Padova is located in the hart of the centre of Padova, the area has limited traffic access, but it is very well served by public transportation and taxi. Moreover from this apartment for rent in Padova you can reach by foot Piazza Duomo, Piazza dei Signori, Piazza della Frutta and Piazza delle Erbe, these, together wit Prato della Valle, are the main squares in Padua and they are only few minutes walk away from the apartment. Here you can enjoy moment or total relax, and taste typical Venetian food or sip a glass of wine in the many restaurants, bars, trattorias and wine bars that in the good season are equipped with tables and chairs in the open air.
The rail way station is very easy to reach, by foot it takes 20 minutes and if you like to use public transportation the bus stop is at 4 minute walk from the apartment. From Padova you can easily reach both by car or by train the most beautiful cities of art Venice, Verona, Vicenza, Ferrara, Bologna and many others.
If you like to reach your holiday apartment in Padua by car please advise because I need to have your plate in order to have a special permission from the local police to let you drive in the centre of the city. The apartment has a dedicated car park available in the court yard of the Palazzo.

We stayed a week in Francesa Papafava's 18th century, old town Padua palace and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Two spacious rooms with a modern kitchen and bathroom served us perfectly during that time. A parking space off the street and a permit to drive into the historic part of town were arranged by her as well. A beautiful garden was available for guests, but we never had the time to enjoy it. There was so much to explore within walking distance and with public transportation nearby.The town gave us a true look into Italian life without the ever-present tourists of other cities.Did you find this review helpful? The appartment is situated in the traffc limited centre of Padova in a renaissance palazzo. The pedestrian zone and the sights are are only a few hundred meters away as well as a supermarket, a bakery and the marketplace. The appartment is well equipped, partly new, partly with antiques. It has Wifi, TV, radio and is very clean. The communication with the landlady was always pleasant and instructive. It's also possible to rent a parking lot in the inner yard of the palazzo. About the owner: My name is Francesca Papafava dei Carraresi and I manage my father's and my aunt's apartments in the family Palace. I also manage Frassanelle, the family estate in the country side 20 km west of Padua in the Regional Park of the Euganean Hills, where it is possible to rent villas and apartments in a beautiful and quiet surrounding. I have started to work in the touristic field in 1998 and today I am responsible for 12 properties in Padua, Venice and in the Euganean Hills. In these years I have built up a great experience end a good knowledge of the region. I was born in Padua and brought up first in Milan and than in Florence where I have attended scientific high school. I have a BA degree in African Religions, School of Oriental and African Studies London. I have traveled a lot in Africa, Middle East, Europe and USA, but I have decided to come back to my origins to dedicate my self to the restoration and keeping of my family historical heritage.
Why the Owner Chose Padova:
I strongly suggest Il Mezzà because it is located in the center of Padua and everything is easily reachable by feet. Because it is plenty of light, and very quite, it is comfortable and beautifully furnished with antiques that have been well maintained. In this apartment in Padua there is no sense of decay that some old property may have, all the upholstery are new. I am a traveler and I know what is more appreciated when you arrive in a new place and what are the expectations after a long and often tiring journey: comfortable modern sofa and beds, spot less linen, spot less bathroom equipped with toilet paper and soap and spot less kitchen. My attention is to make sure that everything is perfectly clean and well coming. I hope to meet you very soon!
