With spectacular views of Sonoma Valley, this cozy getaway is nestled in its own canyon. Set in a pristine pine grove is a custom made, 45 foot lap pool with a 'vanishing edge.' Originally a barn, the 700-square foot lower cottage, completely updated, reportedly contains ceiling trusses taken from the original French Laundry restaurant in Berkeley, California. It has a new kitchen, hardwood floors, a super clean all white bath, TV, satellite connection, DVD and stereo, internet connection (medium speed available).
The upper, one bedroom cottage, located approximately 150 feet from the lower cottage, is slightly larger with its own parking and south side deck. This cottage can be rented in addition to or separately from the lower cottage. If rented separate from the lower cottage, there will be NO POOL OR SPA ACCESS. This getaway is some 900-square foot and is comfortable, not fancy. Originally built in the 1960s, the cottage has been updated with modern appliances, (full kitchen), satellite TV, DVD, Central heat & A/C, wireless internet access (medium speed), iron/ironing board. There is a California king-sized bed.
Access this secluded property is via 1000 foot driveway, the first half of which is shared with a neighbor. The cottage is tucked next to The Bouverie, a 523 acre wildlife preserve with no public access. Plenty of wildlife!
Dogs are welcome, but must be quiet and cat friendly as there is a cat on property.
Within 30 minutes of some of the best restaurants in the world, including: The French Laundry, Tra Vigne, Bouchon and Bistro Jeanty. This marvelous retreat is just 75 minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge.
Two-night minimum rental is required, three nights on holiday weekends.

We had the most relaxing vacation. The hot tub, the pool, the amazing view, the cozy cottage, and the beautifully landscaped grounds added up to a memorable experience -- the best birthday getaway ever! It was so quiet and so beautiful; we had a really hard time readjusting to city traffic noise when we got home. Thank you for sharing your glorious cottage with us.Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway.

We stayed there around the X'mas time, we arrived late at around 7 pm at night, at first we had a hard time to find the cottage since it was so dark in the mountain and secluded. We were kinda worried at first since it's our first rental experience. However, once we got into the cottage, it was so lovely and cozy. The balcony is facing the forest and city, it is so scenic! The bed is very comfortable, the bathroom is clean; however, my husband complained a little bit about the smell on the towel, but nothing big! We stayed in at nights for 2 nights and cook, part of the reason is the road is very steep, and narrow and it's hard to see at nights. Other than that, I have nothing to complain, it's nearly perfect!! I do feel kinda pity that we don't have the chance to use the hot tub. Maybe next time!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway.

The Glen Elen area wasn't my first choice for this trip, however when I saw this property I decided to give it a try. So I'm driving up the amusement ride that is Trinity Rd, and turn into the drive which is just as interesting and I come upon the cottage. That's with the smiling, giggling and outright laughing started. I just kept saying outloud (to myself mind you) "are you kidding me?" If there is a better one-bedroom rental cotage in Sonoma County, I'd like to see it. Especially when you add the nightly rate. The views are crazy good from the pool area, the deck off the living room and the bedroom. Inside the place is clean, updated and sooo comfortable. Kitchen is terrific, bathroom is nice and the TV is excellent. Also, there is a great market in Glen Elen (the one accross the bridge). I do have one note to keep in mind, that is the drive from 12 to the cottage; at times is can be a challenge. But the pay-off is well worth it. Can't wait to go back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

What a wonderful place. The cottage was very up-to-date and had everything we needed and more, including a beautiful view of the valley. Too bad it was a little too cool outside to use the great pool, but we did get some use out of the hot tub. I would recommend to anyone.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We have stayed at this lovely cottage over looking the Sonoma Valley a few times before and just finished another great week to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. We discovered this little gem a few years ago and since then have only missed booking one year. It is nestled up in the hills over looking the valley where the sunsets are amazing. Add the infinity pool, hot tub, pool deck, chirping of the birds and the resident deer, this place has all the makings for a great romantic getaway. We enjoyed 2 days of the Sonoma Valley Hidden Gems weekend and various other wineries with 10 minutes of the cottage. We are already planning our next trip!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

The photos on this site do not do this property justice . . . it is so well maintained and in such a beautiful area. The pool and spa are fantastic! The cottage is a great size for two people and the kitchen is perfectly equipped for gourmet meals. I have already recommended this rental to my friends and I will continue to recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet romantic getaway in the wine country.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.
