Location: Big Canoe, Northwest High Country, Georgia, USA (Approximately 1 hour North of Atlanta!)

Escape this year to the mountains of Big Canoe and loose yourself in it's relaxing atmosphere. Your vacation will begin as you enter Big Canoe with beautiful views including that of the mountains, lakes, wildlife, and golf course.

Upon arrival at our getaway home you will find our luxurious five bedrooms with three and a half baths will allow ample space for all to relax and enjoy. Completed in September of 2004 this new home has a family room, entertainment room, patio, screened porch, two large decks, and a master bathroom with shower and separate jucuzzi tub!

This beautiful three story home is nicely tucked away in a great family oriented section of Big Canoe. With more amenities then your family could possibly explore in one trip your sure to be back year after year. Within a few miles there is a jeep trail, baseball field, basketball court, and a golf course. Within walking distance there is a outdoor pool, indoor salt water pool, outdoor river water slides, full gym, indoor & outdoor tennis courts, a small town grocery store, local restaurant, hiking trails, and of course, a lake to canoe on.

Don't want to miss a ball game? Have a romantic movie in mind? Every room is equipped with a TV and DVD/VHS player behind the doors of a wardrobe. And every TV has cable access with movie and sport channels including HBO and ESPN. Have a group wanting to watch TV? Gather in our entertainment room furnished with a 54 inch wide-screen HDTV, surround sound stereo system, and a large comfy couch. This room will be sure to lure your back again and again.

Love to cook? Our kitchen is fully furnished with anything the chef in you could desire. Large refrigerator, coffee maker, blender, microwave, and a convection air oven.

Wedding Plans? Big Canoe has a romantic chapel and is host to over 100 beautiful weddings a year. Don't be surprised to see a blushing bride while visiting here.

Love the outdoors? There are several beautiful hiking trials very close to our property. My personal favorite is the one at the base of our hill that follows the river!

After kicking back to relax on one of our decks and enjoying the fresh mountain air we are sure you will be coming back for years to come!

Sleeping arrangements: Upstairs 2 bedrooms. One with a king size and one with a queen size. Middle floor has the master bedroom with a king size bed. Downstairs has 2 bedrooms. One with a queen and one with four bunkbeds.

    New Year's 2008-2009 Extended familie members ranging from 6 months - 60+ years gathered here together. We are from Georgia, Florida, and Kentucky. This is a great place for large family groups to gather. The three levels make it easy for different activities to be going on all at one time. The surroundings are beautiful, too. New Year's Day was Sunny and chilly - we hiked and saw the rock slide. We all want to come back in the Summer to try it out. We had a great time taking our grandchildren to the playground, and had lots of good food, drink and fun. Thanks from the Peterson, Brown, Brunson and Carrico Families.

  • Came down for a wedding in Big Canoe, rented Eagles Nest with some friends we don't get to spend nearly enough time with. Great space, great accomodations, easy arrangements, value great for the cost. We attended with several other families who rented other houses, and by "home" became the place to meet because of the size, space, and well maintained accomodations. I encourage anyone who balks at the price to read other reviews, and to also take into consideration that Tom (owner) answered every single call we placed to him in a timely fashion (we heard some "horror stories" from other couples who had a tough time getting keys, finding their house, inaccurate descriptions, general cleanliness not present). We will be back next summer for a getaway, and look forward to hopefully renting the same home or one of Tom's other properties. Thanks!

  • We had our family reunion at eagles nest and it was superb!! We rented 3 homes and everyone associated with big canoe was awesome. If you are looking for a single family, double family or a reunion look no further, THIS IS THE SPOT!!!! breath taking views from the houses, pool, fitness center, tennis canoes vollyball you name it they have it.We had from 2 years old to 80 and there was something for everyone.If you want the best vacation, the best reunion book at big canoe. From experience it was the best reunion ever Thanks Tom

  • We had a wonderful stay in Big Canoe, at Eagles Nest. There were 10 people in our party, and we had adequate space for sleeping, eating and dining. The owners were very good to work with and I would recommend this home as a great place to stay.

  • My family and I stayed at Eagles Nest for the first time during the thanksgiving holiday November 2005. We had a great time...this home is really spacious and warm. We felt right at home as we stepped through the door. We just could not wait for the end of the year to return .... and we did. If you are looking for the home which gives all the views during the day and also to see the stars from the comfort of your bed during the nights....this is the home you need to be.   • My family and a few friends just returned from this home after spending New Years Weekend at Big Canoe. The home is very nicely decorated, spacious, and is the kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of high quality items. We hiked along a nature trail which is very accessible from the house. I would recommend this rental home to anyone wanting a relaxing vacation.
