One of our favorite family activities is heading down to Assateague National Seashore, just 30 minutes away. Great place to relax on the beach with wild horses, hike through beautiful wetlands, and fish the day away!
Year Purchased: 2013
About the owner: We're two busy urban professionals from Columbia Maryland, with two great boys and one precious black lab Dora. Unfortunately we have too little time right now to enjoy the luxury of kicking-back and unwinding at the House by the Sea. That's where you come in!
Why the Owner Chose Garfield Station: Visiting Bethany Beach for over 20 years, we have found each visit more amazing than the last. When this most unique property became available, we seized a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own, preserve and share this special place with others who would also come to appreciate its unique charm and idyllic location right in the heart of Bethany Beach. A House by the Sea offers the ultimate get-away experience -- close to everything, yet far removed from the noise, hustle and hectic pace of urban life.
The Unique Benefits at this House: Few area vacation rentals offer such a scenic and serene location within walking distance to the ocean. The House by the Sea is one block from downtown Bethany and three blocks to the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy the sound of music on the boardwalk every Sunday evening; wouldn’t it be fun to take your kids to a movie on the beach on Monday nights? The Freeman Stage at Bayside is 10 minutes away with fabulous shows throughout the summer months! Visit the wild horses on Assateague Island National Seashore -- a 37-mile long barrier island located off the eastern coast of Delmarva. Be adventuresome and take the ferry over to Cape May. Spend an afternoon in Lewes – the history is amazing and my favorite place for lunch is a Touch of Italy! Visit the Zwaanendael Museum and learn about Delaware’s first European settlement; find a grave at the Lewes Presbyterian Church Cemetery – there are graves dating back to the 1600’s. Plan ahead and schedule a tour of the Dogfish Head Brewery in Milton, DE. We have tons of other suggestions – just ask!
