This cozy home that we call The Fish Camp is located on an acre of waterfront property at the widest part of the Homosassa River. The lot is long and narrow with a canal bordering the west side. As you enter the property you are surrounded by trees that make you feel that you are in a very remote area, when in fact you are only five minutes from three grocery stores and a Wal-Mart. You are only 20 minutes by boat to the Gulf of Mexico. And five minutes by boat to the head waters of the Homosassa River, a refreshing 72 degrees year round. This is where the manatees gather in the winter months.

Fishing is great year round. Scallops are to be found in the summer months. Manatees are to be seen year round but really abundant in the winter months. The porpoise gather at the dock's edge to feed on the mullet. There are otters to be seen, in fact, two have set up housekeeping underneath The Fish Camp and sometimes can be heard in the still of the night. Do not forget to bring some hot dogs to pacify the heron that frequent the property. And best of all, just sit in the lounge chair on the dock's edge and watch the world go by.
