Wonderful place for a ladies retreat!

We stayed in Memories April 2011 with our church's ladies group. We had 21 ladies who came. There was plenty of space and the owner was excellent to work with. He and the caretaker took very good care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. The place was so clean and the beds were comfortable. The large table in the Great room was the best since we could all sit together for meals. It had an ocean view and was only a short walk to the beach. The elevator made packing and unpacking a cinch! All the ladies loved the home! Thanks Gary for making it a great weekend! Hoping for a return visit soon!!

July 2011 Family Reunion

Planning a reunion for 21 people (2 under the age of two, and the rest couples or single adults) is quite tricky. Memories allowed for us to have a fantastic spot for all to gather, dine, play games, share conversation, and relax together when we wanted to be together and space to have quiet time when needed. Each couple had their own bedroom and bath and shared sitting areas. The two families with babies had space and quiet. The first floor provided a great spot our younger single adults, and young couple without children. We cooked at least five full meals and many breakfasts for the entire group with no problem. The ice makers were definatley put to good use! We enjoyed the rooftop pool and hottub, and from the rooftop we could watch as our group returned from the beach or when the dogs were heading out to the beach at 5:30 each day. Butch was wonderfull, making sure all was well even to the point of picking up a small fan for one of our group needing a bit more white noise, Thanks Butch. Ed's for steamed crabs is the place to go and for your morning paper ( if you can wait til 7:30) or beach stuff please go to Vavala's Beach & Things the owners (the three stooges) will take good care of you and share a laugh! Both places are walking distance of 5ish minutes to the south of Memories in Dewey. Also if you head into Ocean City, MD and want a great meal go to The Captain's Table (3rd floor of the Marriot Courtyard on 15th Street) it is NOT hotel food! My biggest complaint is that some where I think someone shortened the week it just was over tooooo soon! Thanks Gary and Butch!

We, all 28 of us with ages ranging from 5-85, had a wonderful week at Memories. The elevator made possible the participation of several older members of our group who otherwise would not have been able to join us. The owner and caretaker work extremely hard to make sure that all needs are addressed in a timely and professional manner. The property description was accurate and all items were includes as stated. In particular we enjoyed the beach; nightly team cooking of speciality dishes; board games, and last but not least the roof deck which provided a great venue to observe the Fouth of July fireworks; an awesome hot tub/pool and ample space for a mid-week outdoors yoga instruction by the Comfort Zone of Rehoboth Beach. Thanks for the Memories!!

BEST DISTRICT MEETING........................EVER!!!!

This was the PERFECT location for a NIKE District Meeting. The home is called "Memories", and so deservingly. The home was FANTASTIC! It was a Fantastic location, Fantastic accommodations, a Fantastic caretaker (who was there for our every need and/or question), and a Fantastic owner, who was most gracious in every way. It was truly the perfect place for our group of 15 to gather & be together in preparing meals, playing games, playing pool, gathering on the roof top late at night to just talk and walking the very short walk to the lovely beach w/lifeguards. The beds were comfortable & we spent all of our time in the GREAT ROOM, because it allowed everyone to be together, become better acquainted for those of us that were new to NIKE and it was the best situation we could have ever asked for. The GREAT ROOM was so wonderful, no one wanted to leave it. I personally have been doing District & Regional Conferences for NIKE for the past 12.5 years & this was without a doubt the best experience we have ever had; and we usually go to lovely hotels in major cities. By not being in a hotel, the Manager's were forced to stay together and do things together, even if it wasn’t what they really wanted to do, originally. We laughed together, cooked together and just overall discussed our retail business and our new fiscal year in a very home like environment, which enabled everyone to better (I believe), grasp what was being communicated by Regional and District Managers, and allowed us to better understand our goal settings for the new fiscal year. For the lack of a better term………………..everyone BONDED! The kitchen was stocked with every utensil known to mankind, the refrigerator was huge, as was the freezer side. We had plenty of ice, due to the icemaker under the island and two coffee pots (one for regular & decaf). The elevator made it easy to bring our supplies up to the 3rd floor and the large flat screen TV had ESPN going 24/7, which we thoroughly enjoyed, along with the comfy sofas and chairs. There was also a huge supply of games that we were able to play, and a huge table that I believe seated approx. 26-30 people easily with lovely continuous arm windsor chairs. I would recommend this home to anyone for a relaxing holiday, a business meeting ir just a wonderful getaway with friends. If anyone would like to contact me direct, please contact the owner of this property and he can give you my direct line.

Our family gathered here for our son's wedding weekend and we were so happy with the setup and accommodations for our family that ranged from babies to our elderly mom. What a wonderful place for us all to stay that had the HUGE great room/kitchen/gathering area and also the wonderful bedroom suites to provide privacy and quiet for sleeping. Thank you so much to the very kind owner and the friendly caretaker for keeping this place so clean and enjoyable and adding to our family "Memories" :)

I was actually one of the 21 members of the family reunion mentioned in the previous review. I certainly agree with everything that was mentioned. I particularly appreciate the kitchen, which is big enough to accomodate several cooks sinultaneoulsy. I like the dining room table that is big enough to comfortably accomodate all 21 of us for warm and memorable meals. The house is big enough to accomodate big groups , and enough space so that one can retreat to a more private corner now and then if one needs to take a break from the actions. The location is perfect. Close enough to th ebeach, and certainly in walking distance to town as well as the Boardwal north of the house. Th ehouse is well maitained, and the on site manager extremely helpful. The owner was also very friendly, and exteremely helpful. In summary, this was a perfect place for our reunion.

This house started off our first family reunion on a very positive note because everyone was so excited with how big it was and the jacuzzis (indoor and outdoor) and everything. The house is well lit and very clean, with plenty of bathrooms. We really liked the third floor, which had huge room that included a large kitchen with 6 burners, a 20-person (or more) giant dining table, as well as a living room area with couches. This became a lovely unplanned gathering place for the whole family. You can walk quickly to the beach and to a farmer's market sort of convenience store and quite a few restaurants; the boardwalk is a bit of a longer trek but quite do-able. When there's traffic, it's 45 minutes to the Tanger outlet malls, but in the evening only a 10 minute drive. This house offers something for everyone. Noisy occupants can stay on a different floor from those who want to go to bed early, and the elevator would allow elderly renters to access everything but the big rooftop widows walk and pool area. The owner and caretaker of the house were also accessible and friendly. If you have more than 21 people, you might want to plan out who has what bed ahead of time, because the room set ups mean that if you aren't strategic, it can feel more crowded than it actually is (some beds are in rooms that others have to walk through, etc.)

We had an excellent family reunion of 21, who snugly fit around the dining table. The house is spacious, with plenty of sleeping quarters and enough space for different activities and noise levels. Big plusses are the large kitchen, the pool table, the many windows, the short walk to the beach, and the jacuzzi and exercise pool on the roof terrace. The house was well maintained, customer service excellent, and prior information accurate.

I struggle writing this review because I am afraid that you will read this and take my week for next year (LOH). I was expecting a lot and this place still exceeded my expectations. Our family has been coming to Rehoboth for the past 30 years and we have stayed in a variety of places. But this was by far the best. The owner and caretaker are very conscious about great customer service. We had a 25 minute discussion before we arrived (I did miss my turnoff at Morgantown) so I knew what to expect. My grandchildren loved the swimming pool and deck area while the rest of us enjoyed the many different places to enjoy reading, relaxing etc. the original house has its own charm and again my young grandchildren chose that area to sleep at night. I can't say enough about the kitchen area which is a great gathering place for everyone. I would recommend "Memories" to anyone that would like a great family vacation.

Enjoyed our third year at "Memories". Exceptional because our entire family was here to share all the amenities and good times, as in years past. We leave (reluctantly) with many memories for the next year.
