San Juan apartment description
Comfy remodeled 1 bedroom apt (sleeps 4). Located on a first floor of a small, quiet 3 floor building, typical of the Miramar District. Apartment has 11ft high ceilings, big windows, A/C in bedroom and living area, an outdoor terrace, and private parking. The master bedroom has hard wood floors, a queen size bed, and ample storage space. New remodeled kitchen, coffee maker and microwave, fridge and washer/dryer. The living area has a full size futon that sleeps two and a love seat sofabed that sleeps one more. There is a large flat screen TV, cable and free wifi.
The private patio space is great for relaxing. You can enjoy the beauty of the trees that surround it and the vegetation and flowers inside.
Miramar is a great and lively neighborhood. It is famous for its restaurants, coffee shops, cinema, art and music. There are over 14 great restaurants/bars walking distance from my apartment. Here are a some of them:
Melanzanna (italian), Pizza Birra (italian), Abreu's Wine Cellar (spanish), Casita Miramar (puertorican), Café Miramar (puertorican), Lima (peruvian), La Jaquita Baya (puertorican), Papillon Bistro (french/provençal), Soda (artesanal), Bistro 606 (french), Augusto's Cuisine (international), La Pradera (puertorican), Osaka (Japanese), Bartola (mexican), Los Pinos (24/7) (puertorican).
Miramar is very close to Condado (walking distance) and Old San Juan (5 min. in car or public transportation). It is a very popular neighborhood that appeals to young and old alike because of the many things to do and visit.
And best of all everythin is walking distance: the supermarket, a pharmacy, a post office, UPS store, banks, deli, bars, restaurants, hotels, convention center. So if you come for business or for pleasure, you have all you need close by.
During the day walk to the beach, go to Old San Juan or El Condado... so close! And, in the evening walk to one of best movie theaters of the metropolitan area or have a great dinner or just enjoy the music and some drinks in one of the bars, hotels or lounges. Also, if you like art, you will find art galleries and museums close by, too.
The Urban Garden is perfect for a getaway vacation! Artists, travelers, writers, families and business people are welcome. Just steps from the bus stop, beach, bike paths, and the Puerto Rico Convention Center. This is definitely your best choice in Miramar.

Fun, spacious, and close to transportation
Fun, spacious, and close to transportation
We enjoyed staying at the apartment! Positives: - The apartment is a nice space. Really high ceilings and lots of light make it really bright and fun to stay in. The place does have accommodations for a about 4 people (one large bed in the bedroom, and a firm couch and not so firm 1-person sofabed in the living room area). - Right outside the apartment is a bus that takes you to Condado, one of the trendy parts of San Juan that also has some really great beaches. The bus that takes you to old San Juan, another great place to visit, is less than a 5 minute walk away. - The place has a kitchen with a pretty nice electric stove, so you can cook and eat at home if you like. - Wireless connection is strong throughout the apartment, and even outside in the enclosed garden. - The place has a washer and dryer in the apartment, which was GREAT. - If you prefer to stay in Miramar (the upper/middle-class residential neighborhood the apartment is in), there are quite a few restaurants and bars that are very close by, one of which is a 24 hour Puerto Rican diner. There's also a small supermarket about a 10 minute walk away. - The property owner/manager was available by text and responded to questions within 5-10 minutes. She also lives nearby, just in case. I can't really claim any negatives about the apartment, but being that this was my first time visiting Puerto Rico, the following would have been helpful: - A cutting board! We did a bunch of cooking in the apartment and could have really used a proper cutting board. - The dryer vent wasn't fully functional when we were there (but I believe they're working on it). The vent tube is directed into a small container of water... which ended up spilling a bit when the dryer was being used. - Clear markings for the fans! It took us a couple of days to realize that level 5 was the lowest power setting for the fan, rather than the highest! And the following info would've been great to have upon or before our arrival: - Clear directions from the airport to the apartment by bus, in case you want to do that instead of a taxi. - Some prepared info for taking the buses to old San Juan, Condado, and other points of interest in the city. - Car rental information (we used Charlie car rental, which was CHEAP and overall good) Overall, a great stay!

Manager response: Thanks so much for such a great review. We'll make sure to have that cutting board for our next guests and have clear written instructions on how to take the bus to Condado and Old San Juan, and the train to the Bank district and the University. Miramar is definitely very well situated! As for the bus to and from the airport that can be done too. However the taxi is less than $20.00 and so much faster! Come back soon. You were great guests. Comfortable, safe, quiet, home-like
Comfortable, safe, quiet, home-like
The apartment was in a nice area, mostly quiet, though frequent police sirens at night. It was safe- we jogged and took walks in the early am and early evenings, never encountered any problems. Some possibly homeless people seemed to relax on the steps of a boarded building across the street during the day, but they didn't bother anyone. Apartment was clean, quiet, all amenities such as the air conditioning, internet, television, shower- worked great. Lots of clean towels, sheets, blankets provided. Stove worked-no oven avaiilable. Had an ironing board-no iron available. Bedroom with full bed- very nice. The futons were in a small area but cozy and clean and comfortable. Would stay there again if we returned to Puerto Rico.

My boyfriend and I stayed in Apt for a week. We are New Yorkers from Brooklyn, and Miramar area was so bike friendly. We were able to bike to the beach in few minutes, there is a bike path to Old San Juan. In the night the area is quite but a block a way there is a strip of local restaurants with different food options. Lourdes as an amazing host! We will definitely recommend this cozy apartment with a beautiful garden. We will always remember our outdoor tropical breakfasts in the patio.

Wonderful apt in a great neighborhood!
Wonderful apt in a great neighborhood!
I lived in this apartment from October 2012 to late May 2013. The apartment is wonderful for a single professional or student travelling. The owner Sofia and her mom Lourdes are absolutely great at taking care of you while you are here. They are quick to attend to any problems that may arise. The apartment is located in a hidden gem of a neighborhood in San Juan called Miramar. It's a very quiet, professional, well established neighborhood with mostly older quiet families residing there. Lots of up and coming restaurants in the area as well. Must eat at Casita Miramar, a short walk from the apt. The apartment is on a busy corner with a bus stop nearby but that never really bothered me having lived in a city before. The building itself is a beautifully renovated multi-unit apt building with gated parking and very quiet respectful neighbors. It is literally 5 minutes from Condado, Old San Juan, and even the Bacardi Factory. Very convenient location if you are driving. I will definitely look at staying here when I come visit Puerto Rico! I already miss the beaches!

I think I was the first person who stayed in this apartment after it was remodeled. The description is very accurate. It is in a nice street close to restaurants and all. I highly recommend La Casita de Miramar and Froyo (on Ponce de Leon Ave.) for dessert. The Casita has very nice typical puertorican food and it's right on the same street as the apt. The "Playa del Perro" as they call it and the laguna del Condado promenade is walking distance away (great for jogging). The apartment was spotless. Sofia was a great host and communication with her was easy. There are two a/c units that keep the apt cool but we usually had the terrace door open and were in and out all the time. The jewel is the little terrace. Great to have lunch or a romantic dinner outside. wifi, cable, washer-dryer. Oh! one last thing: public transportation is very accessible. There is parking but we had no car.

Why San Juan:
Miramar! what a great place to live in! It literally means looking at the sea. It is synonym of tropical breeze. It is close to the beach, to Old San Juan, to Santurce and Condado. All is walking distance or just a short bus or bike ride away. I am an artist and in Miramar I can walk to museums, galleries, art shops, restaurants, bars, pizzerias, cinemas. It has great public transportation that connects you to all these places, too. Even the train is easy to take from here. The apartment? I fell in love with this apartment immediately. It is situated in one of the best streets in Miramar, lined with trees. There are two big trees right in front of my terrace. The building is one of the old mansions of Miramar that was transformed into a condo in the 80s. The ceilings are high. It has arches! I have worked hard remodeling it and now it is just the way I like it. I am back in NY now, I really miss the sunshine, the breeze and the liveliness of Miramar and the coziness of my apartment.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
This apartment is unique! It has a great outdoor space with beautiful vegetation and a great breeze. Also, Miramar is a very hip neighborhood. It is famous for its restaurants, coffee shops, cinema, art and music. There are over 14 great restaurants/bars walking distance from my apartment. Here are a some of them: Melanzanna (italian), Pizza Birra (italian), Abreu's Wine Cellar (spanish), Casita Miramar (puertorican), Café Miramar (puertorican), Lima (peruvian), La Jaquita Baya (puertorican), Papillon Bistro (french/provençal), Soda (artesanal), Bistro 606 (french), Augusto's Cuisine (international), La Pradera (puertorican), Osaka (Japanese), Bartola (mexican), Los Pinos (24/7) (puertorican). All these places are so, so, close. No need for a car or taxi to move around.
