- Antigua Guatemala is a Unesco World Heritage Site. Founded on March 10, 1543 the Spanish conquistadors founded present-day Antigua, and again, it was named Santiago de los Caballeros. For more than 200 years it served as the seat of the military governor of the Spanish colony of Guatemala, a large region that included almost all of present-day Central America and the southernmost State of Mexico: Chiapas. In 1566 King Felipe II of Spain gave it the title of 'Muy Noble y Muy Leal' ('Very Noble and Very Loyal'). With its cobblestone streets, colonial churches, and many restaurants to choose from, Antigua Guatemala will enchant all of your senses....moreless

Great impression on arriving in Antigua
Great impression on arriving in Antigua
This was the nicest home we have ever rented. The house is very well done; the outside and the inside. Many plants and artwork in every room but all the rooms were very comfortable with several gathering/lounging areas everyone felt at home but not on top of each other. We were two families with two kids each and it worked out beautifully. The master suite was a real treat with its own sitting area and verandah. The garden and pool setting were stunning and we spent a lot of time outside enjoying the garden and the views and once the hot tub warmed up we enjoyed that each evening. The only slight drawback, and not much of one, is that it is a bit far to walk into town, this was remedied by a few Tuk Tuk rides and calling a taxi driver that we became comfortable with. This house definitely warrants 5 stars.

Manager response: Thank you for such a nice review, My wife and I have put many hours in making the house as comfortable as possible, and getting reviews like this, make us full of Joy. I am happy you had a good time!!!
Awesome is the best word to describe this place. Daily maid service, a full time gardener and helper with an incredible property. I spent hours taking pictures of flowers, my family spent hours in the pool and hot tub. The maid even stayed around and helped with a nice dinner( I paid her, of course). The views of the volcanos, the luxurious accommodations, the location, etc. i could go on and on. Miguel the property manager was very thorough in showing us everything, as well as extremely accommodating. This property deserves its own web site, -Mansion Away. I will be back next year. I highly recommend this place to anyone..Warning-this place will spoil you.
