Location: Prospect Harbor, Acadia, Maine, USA
Accommodations: House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths (Sleeps 7)
The Schoodic peninsula is home to the mainland portion of Acadia National Park. Acadia National Park is the fifth most visited national park in the United States. With 2000 acres on the end of the peninsula like its island counterpart there is a "loop" road that is part of a scenic byway featuring scenic turnouts and hiking trails. One of the undiscovered gems of Maine is in this part of the region. Schoodic Point is a much less traveled part of Acadia National Park. Often it offers a solitude rarely unattainable elsewhere. Always it boasts spectacular scenery and the best surf crashing into rocks to be seen anywhere on stormy days. The interplay of land and sea and sunlight has inspired generations of poets, writers, and painters. The Schoodic Peninsula has a wide variety of visitor attractions, shopping, lodging, and eateries.
This area was settled in the 1760s and like the rest of the regions offers a glimpse into its past through local historical societies and its architecture and traditions.
The home is located in the town of Gouldsboro on the Schoodic Peninsula, home to Acadia National Park's Schoodic Point and the picturesque fishing villages of Winter Harbor, Prospect Harbor, and Corea. This brand-new, three-bedroom, two-bath home has a two-car garage and sits on over six acres of majestic Maine forest land. The winding gravel driveway gently rises past lovely sunlit clearings, towering native evergreens, and beautifully colored foliage down to a home that sits overlooking the magnificent Atlantic Ocean. The home has been carefully sited to maximize the beautiful ocean views and dramatic sunrises. It is not uncommon here to see native wildlife such as bald eagles, seals, loons, foxes and deer.
This custom built home has all the charm of a classic, New England, three-gabled Cape Cod with all the conveniences of brand-new construction. Beautifully decorated with brand-new, cottage-style furniture and fine antiques, this home looks like it has just came out of a decorating magazine.
The home has been fully equipped with everything you will need for a wonderful relaxing stay in Maine. There is a master bedroom downstairs with a queen-size, white, wrought iron bed. Upstairs you will find two large dormer-style bedrooms; one with two twins and another with one full-size and one twin. There is a wood deck outside with two Adirondack chairs. We even provide you with a canoe and three mountain bikes.
