The homestead is actually a duplex. Consider it a place for a quiet get-a-way. It's an old restored farmhouse where consideration to the other tenant is needed. If your looking for a place to party this is not the place. Parking is limited to two cars, permission can be granted for more when license numbers are submitted to the owners.
The Homestead is located just minutes from the heart of Ashland on 40 acres that have been in our family for over 100 years. We are in the country yet so close to town.
Every closet and nook is filled with great books and fun games. We have WIFI and the basic TV channels.
Take a walk up the road to enjoy the farm animals at the nearby inn or better yet hire Mark to hitch up the horses for a sleigh or wagon ride. We have great dark night skies where you'll see more stars than you've ever seen at night. That is of course on a clear night.

About the owner: We are Mark and Kelly. The owners and caretakers of 'The Homestead'. It is dear to our heart as it was the home of my (Kelly) grandparents and great-grandparents. Every Sunday evening was spent with my grandpa and gramma in the country (and many other times too). Nine years ago we built our B&B, Second Wind Country Inn to the south of my grandparents old home in the back cow pasture. Our children are the fifth generation to live on this land. We recently acquired this old farmhouse and market it hand in hand with our B&B. So we live at the inn just south of 'The Homestead'. My hubby drives horses similar to what farmed these old fields in the early 1900's just like my great-grandpa. He also still putters on our 40 acres with my grandpa's old 8N tractor. Come take it in...Come enjoy the country...
Why the Owner Chose Ashland: Every Sunday evening was spent at this old farmhouse. I (Kelly) loved coming here to see my grandparents. I spent many of hours with grandpa at the barn playing in the hay mow, loving up the cats and helping Grandpa milk the cows.
