Superb oceanfront home located in a unique family setting. Newly renovated and fully appointed, our home was built to foster family reunions, accommodate multiple families or golf groups while preserving privacy. Accommodations: 3 large bedrooms upstairs with 3 king beds all with their own master bathroom. Two of the bathrooms were just renovated in September 2006 with Marble flooring, new vanities etc.. a "Sea Escape" kids room with 2 sets of bunk beds and a 5th bedroom with a queen bed and a bathroom are downstairs.
Also downstairs is a Pool Table. The kids can have a blast while you sit on the screened porch or large deck and stargaze while you review each hole of golf you played earlier, or take in the spectacular ocean views! Sit on the deck or screened porch and catch the sunrise, numerous dolphins at play in the morning or watch at night for the beautiful stars while you listen to the ocean waves crash against the beach and rocks. Our deck and small Tiki Hut ocean side are perfect for sunbathing, watching shrimpers, and beach strollers by day and stars by night.
Fripp Island is 3 1/2 miles long ensuring that all amenities are close. Paved bicycle, skating or jogging trails traverse the island. Wildlife is abundant. Deer, raccoons, herons, egrets, ospreys and alligators are common sights. Loggerhead turtles lay many nests on Fripp each year. Nature centers on Fripp and nearby Hunting Island provide hours of enjoyable activities on the beaches, in the forests or marshes. Once you arrive, park the car and rent a golf cart for island transportation.
There are two golf courses located on Fripp. Ocean Creek Golf Course designed by 1997 PGA Champion Davis Love, III (par 71, 6629 yard) has won design honors from GOLF MAGAZINE and THE GOLFER. Ocean Point Golf Links designed by George W.Cobb (par 71, 6556 yard) is a links-style course where the land meets the sea. South Carolina National Golf Club on nearby Cat Island can also be accessed by our guests.
There is Camp Fripp for the kids to get away from the parents for a couple of hours during the day for them to take in other activities, meet other kids, and give Mom and Dad a chance to relax. What a relief for them!
Hollywood has discovered Fripp Island to be fascinating as well. The Ocean Creek and Tidal Marsh areas of Fripp were used as film sets for both Forest Gump and Disney's The Jungle Book!
Jacques Cousteau said that "Fripp Island is framed by some of the the world's most fertile and pristine salt marshes." |
