Bass Lake boasts warm waters and cool breezes most of the year. The community of Marina view is located at the deeper, south end of the lake offering year round water access within a large no wake zone. Our home is just a 1 minute walk to the lake and private boat slip (on main launch dock) in an exclusive community marina offering a no cost boat launch, picnic areas, fire pit, swim float, quieter waters and a great fishing environment. Our home is at the end of cul-de sac and offers a great room floor plan with two levels and 2 large decks surrounded by trees and wonderful lake views. On the upper, accessed via a wheel chair friendly ramp, you will find two bedrooms, full bathroom, a fully Equipped kitchen, a tankless gas BBQ & bottled water for your convenience. The lower level, with 2 bedrooms & 1 bath is a perfect kids retreat or separating families, with its own deck and exterior access to the lower level with additional (hard to come by) parking off the main road. The home includes Heating & Cooling systems, Washer & Dryer, WiFi and internet ready flat screen with Dish satellite & DVD. Additional TV/DVD/Satellite in downstairs game room. Check out the amenities tab on our website for additional information. We enjoy taking our smaller craft out within the quiet marina waters, including the vinyl variety :) So consider bringing along your canoe or paddle board. The avid mountain bikers and hikers among us especially enjoy the 007 single track directly above the home, as well as other nearby trails. A favorite for all is a ride, walk or run around the dam and along the lake road, sometimes just to Miller’s Landing for an ice cream or lunch. These trails start just a short walk down the road, or there is a parking area at the trailhead. The Central Camp & 007 trail is also a fun dirt bike experience and Miami Trails are close by too. Whatever your inclination, we encourage you to get out and enjoy the surroundings. Don't forget a star chart and flashlight.

Why Bass Lake: Having vacationed in Yosemite for the first time when 13 years old, I carried on after marrying and having kids missing maybe 2-3 years in 35. Every year we passed the sign pointing to Bass Lake, but never took the time to detour. Finally one year we added reservations for a stay in Bass Lake to the end of our Yosemite trip (after all it was only a 5 mile detour.) We really enjoyed the area and decided to make the same detour the next year… and were hooked. We loved the mountain bike trails, loved boating and fishing on the warm lake surrounded by trees, and loved how close it was to Yosemite. My boys were in there teens by then and were not as into hiking and camping as their parents were. But in Bass Lake they were more interested in continuing to vacation with us, and we were still close enough to not give up our visits to Yosemite. Best of both worlds! When looking at the area with thoughts of purchasing, we were drawn to the quieter neighborhoods on the south end. Although walking to the local village shops sounded fun and convenient, it was also more congested and noisier. The deeper year round waters, the large no wake zone surrounding the marina, and the proximity to the mountain bike trails won us over. Besides, it is only a 4 minute drive or boat ride to the village…
The Unique Benefits at this House: We learned that this home was one of the first in the area, and we could tell the owners loved their home and did not want to leave. We felt extremely fortunate to find a place so close to the lake with such awesome sit down views, and right below one of the best mountain bike trails around! The property needed some tweaking and upgrades to accommodate guests, but we enjoyed every weekend we drove there to make it happen. As we got to know the area better we felt even more fortunate to have found this home. It is a wonderful neighborhood. There is plenty of parking for our many guests. We appreciate the trees and space between homes. The quiet waters of the marina have been a great relaxer and we have plenty of opportunity for whatever type of exercise we are in the mood for. We continue to make improvements as we are able and always welcome our guests input. We want all that stay to enjoy themselves and sincerely hope they respect our home so that we can continue to make improvements rather than repairs.
