Well appointed. Is a mother in law quarters of a larger house on a block with other nice houses. The owner is usually there but was very quiet during our visit. Everything works well, the fixtures all of high quality. You have the run of the nice yard. It is a mile to the beach, which is very nice but has small waives. The owner and the property manager were very gracious to deal with. Some road noise but it did not bother us.

A lovely home away from home!
A lovely home away from home!
The Duck Road Hale is the perfect spot for a “home base” while making day trips all over the island. We stayed there with our two teenage sons for a week in October and it couldn't have been better! The bedroom is wonderful with the deck and the view of the canal. The kitchenette was has a microwave, coffee maker and a mini-fridge, plus any dishes and utensils that you would need. Half of the mornings there we just had simple breakfasts in the suite and it was perfect. In the entry room with the kitchenette there is also a double futon that the boys said was very comfortable. The unit was very clean and the décor is very tasteful. Each morning my husband and I would walk to the beach at the end of the road to watch the beautiful sunrise and the hammock at the edge of the canal was a great place to hang out and watch the ducks anytime throughout the day. It was very easy to get to from the airport and is a great location in Kailua.

Great home-a-way from home

What a great place to stay while visiting Oahu. I loved the open space, but more importantly, I loved the canal in the back. The sunsets were beautiful and the location couldn't have been better. I really enjoyed watching my football games at Pinky's Sports Bar. The food was great too.

Me and my husband stayed here for a week and it couldn't have been more perfect! Trisha is the absolute sweetest host! The room exceeded our expectations. We arrived in the middle of the night and woke up, walked out the sliding door of our room and were greeted by beautiful mountains, a lovely yard and a canal with sweet little ducks. The room itself was immaculate and made our stay that much more sweeter. The decor and feel of the room is timeless and so cozy. We felt so welcome and comfortable the whole time. I was so happy and would definitely stay again if we get to visit Oahu in the future!
