Our home is located on a spectacular 6 acre piece of property with 300’ of waterfront. We face west and look out on Upright Channel and San Juan Island which makes enjoying the beautiful sunsets each evening a favorite pastime. We love to watch the ferries pass through Upright Channel on their way to Friday Harbor from our deck and living room. It’s even more beautiful and serene at night when the ferries are brightly lit and travelling on the quiet dark water.
Our property is private and quiet. It has 4 wooded acres with hiking paths and deer trails. We have deer, otter, and eagles that frequent our property. There is a tree house on the edge of the woods that kids love to play in. We have a large open front yard that is perfect for bocce ball, badminton, soccer, and evening camp fires. Kids love to run and play kick the can in the open space. We have four Adirondack chairs that we like to lounge in on the deck or setup around the fire pit in the evening. There is also a large picnic table, barbecue grill, outdoor games such as bocce ball, Frisbee, badminton, and hammocks.
Our home is newly remodeled and has an updated kitchen with all of the amenities and is stocked for a cook. You will be able to enjoy and make use of the delicious fresh farm food that you can purchase on the island or at the weekend farmer’s market. I love to enjoy my coffee in the very quiet morning while watching the deer in the front yard. Our house is warm, comfortable, and filled with an eclectic mix of artwork. The living room has big picture windows that allow you to enjoy the expansive view and take in the San Juan Islands, wildlife, passing boats and ferries. The master bedroom has a queen bed and bathroom. I get the best night’s sleep because of the comfort and quiet. The dining room has a beautiful single slab wood dining table that comfortably seats six. The kitchen is stocked with dishes, platters, utensils, and appliances. It has a wide variety of spices, herbs, mortar and pestle, and oils. There are two large picture windows which allow you to enjoy a view of the woods while preparing gourmet meals. Your guests will enjoy sitting at the counter as everyone always congregates in the kitchen. The kitchen is newly remodeled, open, well lit, clean, and has lots of counter and storage space. The guest bedroom has two bunk beds and is a perfect kids room. It has a set of single over double bunk beds. The guest bathroom has a sea theme with an octopus shower curtain, large jelly fish decal on the wall, and blue pool tiles on the floor. It’s fun for kids.
Our home is located only three miles from the ferry terminal and only .5 miles from the village. It is a short walk or bike ride into the village for an espresso at Isabel’s or a delicious fresh pastry at Holly B’s Bakery. Our kids love to ride their bikes into town for fudge, salt water taffy, or ice cream at the Fudge Shop or the soft serve ice cream machine in the grocery store. It’s also a short ride to the lovely library which has a great children’s section with a computer, a teen section with giant bean bag chairs, a fire place and a knitting basket, computers, they show movies occasionally, and they have musical instruments for check out and use. They also have an extensive DVD collection. It is an excellent library and I highly recommend a visit. Our property is situated so that we can see the very large Lopez fireworks display as well as the fireworks in Friday Harbor in the distance. It is a prime 4th of July location.
For outdoor enthusiasts, we are close to bicycle rentals at Lopez Bicycles across from the Marina. You can also rent paddle boards and kayaks there as well. It’s also a great place to launch your boat or inquire about boat rentals, fishing, fishing and crabbing licenses, etc. Spencer Spit State Park is only three miles east of us and it is a great park for kayaking, clamming, and enjoying all of the driftwood forts on the beach. There is also a couple of great farms next to Spencer Spit, the Horse Drawn Carriage Farm, (360) 468-3486, which has a serve yourself farm store with fresh produce and pork, beef, and lamb, and there is Sweet Grass Farm, which raises the best Wagyu beef that I’ve ever tasted. You can find out more about them at www.sgf.com. Crowfoot berry farm is also nearby if you’re interested in picking delicious strawberries or raspberries.

Our property is oceanfront with a high bank. You are responsible for the safety of your children. Our property also has a well and a septic system. We ask that renters please conserve water by not taking long showers, only doing full loads of laundry, and being careful when doing hand dishes. Conservation is very much appreciated.

Why the Owner Chose Lopez Island: We immediately fell in love with our property! After driving down the long driveway and turning the corner, we felt like we were in a private wonderland. There were deer on the lawn, eagles flying just off the bank, the view was breathtaking, and the water was sparkling. We love being within walking distance of the village, close to farms and delicious food, and close to the ferry. It's been great for biking and we love crabbing. We enjoy visiting such a laid back and friendly island.
