This is our second trip to Kona and our 2nd visit to your Sunny Kona Condo. The highlights of our days were sitting with our coffee and fruit in the morning on the lanai and ending with a glass of wine while we admired the sunsets. I read "Hawaii-The Big Island Revealed" and quoted facts daily to my family pertinent to our driving adventures. Very interesting! Thank you for providing this book and the other Big Island books in the condo. Every day was memorable!

The location of this comfortable condo is five stars. The lanai is exactly as pictured and the ocean view is lovely, overlooking black rocks sheltering sea turtles. While the accommodations aren't luxurious, they are completely satisfactory, with a well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. The scenic town of Kona is just down the road to the north and some of the best snorkeling can be had at a beach park on this same road to the south. You don't have to go more than five miles from the unit to fulfill all your vacation needs, though we were happy to stay on the lanai and watch the beautiful sunsets!

Happy New Year! For rest and relaxation your condo is the place to be. It took us awhile and a lot of effort to leave the lanai on any given day, but we managed. Dining out offers a multitude of choices in Kona, but a home cooked meal, dining on the lanai in the late afternoon watching the sunset and the sky radiating vivid colors was and is more memorable than a steak (well cooked) at the local hot spots. Thank you for having a complete kitchen designed for a cook. We hope to be back soon.

Your condo was all you promised and more. The “extras” such as beach chairs and boogie boards were fun to have. You were right! The lanai was our favorite spot and we loved watching the surfers. The sound of the surf at night made for extra great sleeping. We ate all our evening meals at home as did not want to miss a sunset. We usually took a picnic with us as we explored the Island each day. We had a wonderful time on the Island it was a great start to our month in Hawaii.

Once again Liane, Thank You for a marvelous trip. This is our 6th trip to Kona and the 6th time you have made us feel like we are at our sunny home away from home. Jon's Mom was reluctant to fly to Hawaii but we worked on her for 2 years! She had a wonderful 70th birthday and nothing but praise for Kona Bali Kai and your condo. Thanks again and we are looking forward to a visit this Spring 2012.

Ideal location and floor elevation. Yes, we're spending a lot of time on the lanai. Lots of surfers and gig waves. Went to "Bite Me" at the Marina for fresh mahi and wahoo which we cooked on the grill. Good Poke at the store here at Kona Bali Kai.

This is such a beautiful condo. It's in a great locatation. Very quiet but yet close to everything in Kona. My husband and I would get up each morning with our coffee and watch the surfers. Each evening we made sure we were back to watch the sunsets with a bottle of wine. The condo has everything you need; beach towels, chairs, beach umbrella, snorkeling gear, boogie boards, coolers. We packed up our lunch each morning, threw it in the cooler and off we went. You won't need a thing! After a long day of sightseeing and/or swimming we would come back and use the hot tub which was so relaxing. The pool area is very nice as well. We used the stainless steel grills as a couple of times. It was perfect....grilling right on the water. :) Every morning the staff lays out nice lawn chairs for people to use along the beach/lawn and they are picked up after the sun goes down. This was our first time to Hawaii and I am so thrilled we stayed here. It made our trip even better. We are talking about coming back next year. Lianne is very easy to work with, you can't go wrong by renting this property! Thanks Lianne!

I appreciated having everything we needed available at the condo. My favorite moment other than sitting on the lanai, was having a seahorse twirl around my finger at the sea horse farm - Ocean Riders - they are magical! We had some great meals at Keii Cafe, Kona Country Club, and had fun sitting outside at the Kona Brewery. Mahalo!

This place is all about the view and being able to lie in bed watching the surfers at 6.30am and falling sleep with the sound of the waves crashing against the shore! We hardly spent time in the property and pretty much the thing that stopped us giving an excellent was that the bathrooms could do with upgrading. The owner got our only minor problem fixed in a timely manner. Overall, very pleased with our stay and we would stay again..

Fun watching the surfers handle some big waves! We enjoyed the snorkeling at kealakekua bay (Place of Refuge). The coral is beautiful there. Rough entrance and exit from the water there so gloves help. kahalu'u beach park had wonderful variety of sea life. Stopped at Black Sand Beach on the way to the volcano - very nice. Sea Paradise boat trip was friendly and only 8 other snorkelers on board. Hugo's on the Rocks had fun and excellent music (Sundays) with great view. Gets very crowded by 5 pm. We also appreciated the bird book in the condo, saw lots of different birds.

This condo is the best, the MBr has a view of the lanai and the ocean right there. Sleep with the sound of the ocean! It was the best we have ever rented, has wonderful location and will definitely be back only longer this time. The unit is clean, very well stocked with tons of towels, boogie boards, snorkel stuff and has a washer and dryer. It was fun watching the surfers and paddle boarders in the morning with our coffee! Turtles were a common site in the shallow water by the building. We have traveled to the 4 major Hawaiian Islands and this is our new favorite, with the best snorkeling anywhere!! Place of Refuge has wonderful coral with tons of fish. Joe and Jane (Franklin, TN)

Our vacation in Kona was incredible! We fell in love with the location of this condo on the first day. The rhythmic sound of the ocean just outside your bedroom is simply amazing. I don’t think I’ve ever slept better in my life. When we were in the condo, the giant sliding glass doors were literally never closed! We spent most mornings lounging on the Lanai, drinking 100% Kona coffee and eating fresh papayas that we picked up at the Kona farmers market in town just a minute away! I swear I could’ve died happy out on that lanai. As an added bonus, the waves in front of the condo are a favorite for most locals and it is fun to watch surfers, paddle boarders, and boogie boarders of all ages doing all kinds of tricks out there. It’s like a free show every morning and evening! The condo building is centrally located to lots of attractions. It is only a few minutes from the heart of Kona where you’ll find all sorts of fun shops and restaurants but far enough away that you don’t get any of the annoying ‘touristy’ traffic. There are lots of little beaches to the south (again only a couple minutes away), some better for sunning and some for snorkeling: we had fun at all of them. Bottom line is: from the morning surfers to the gorgeous sunset each evening, this condo’s location is perfect! It also isn’t lacking in amenities! The kitchen in the condo was fully stocked and had everything we needed. We loved the layout of the condo, it has a very open feel to it but each bedroom has its own private bath which is a nice bonus for families or couples sharing the condo. Also, because we stayed almost two weeks, it was very nice to have a clothes washer and dryer in the unit! Also the free Wi-Fi was priceless for researching fun activities or cool restaurants to try. We also used it to stream some Netflix movies on the laptop! There is a covered and secure parking area so whenever you leave from or return to the condo, you feel safe. All in all this condo fit our needs perfectly and it exceeded all of my expectations. Now that we are back to our daily lives in bustling Seattle, we both constantly think about returning. What we thought was a one-time trip is now a quiet obsession! There are times when I find myself stressed out or dragged down by the weight of life and all I have to do is remember the dozen or so evenings in May that we relaxed out on the Lanai, listening to the waves crash against the shore below

On Thursday night about 7:30 pm HI time a 8.9 earthquake hit Japan and at 9:30 our time we told to evacuate. We hurriedly packed up everything and loaded it in the car an followed the tsunami evacuation signs. The sirens went off every hour until 5:00 am. We reached out community shelter about an hour later. It had running water, bathrooms and a drinking fountain. It felt cold at 1000' feet above sea level and had us scrambling for jackets etc. Sleeping in the car we got about 3 hours sleep while listening to the radio. The next day we had breakfast with several hundred other evacuees at a shopping center. We parked about 3 blocks from the condo complex because there were boulders trees and sand in the street, parking and pool area. The complex staff had it 80% cleaned up in 24 hrs and 100% cleaned in 48 hours. Pool was open. We want to come back next year because the unit, locations and snorkeling all made this little "inconvenience" worth it.

We stayed at the condo for 5 days and absolutely loved our stay!! The condo was well equipped with everything you need, very clean, spacious, and peaceful. Every day the surfers are out at 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and they surf right in front of the condo. It was awesome watching them surf every morning and evening. Listening to the ocean waves and watching the sunset every night on the lanai was truly a remarkable experience. It was quiet in the condo. We slept with the doors open to the ocean every night. I would recommend this place to my family and friends.

We discovered all sorts of amenities in the condo like beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards! This was my first time to Hawaii and to wake up to waves crashing, sweet birds singing in the palms and soft fragrant air was bliss! We loved Huggo's on th the rocks for early breakfast, great coffee and happy hours! We loved the downtown Farmer's market, the snorkeling easy entry as Keahou outrigger. We took the Bodyglove snorkel & Dolphin Adventure and it was perfect! Professional crew, great water slides and snorkeling. We went to Hapuna Beach 3 x's - a "picture perfect" beach. We also went to Waipio Valley - powerful and stunning. Your condo was so comfortable, tasteful and we spent hours watching the surfers from the balcony. We hope to come back soon! Mahalo Nui Loa! P.S. The only disappointment..........leaving.

We stayed at Liane's 3rd floor condo during the last week in August 2010 and had a great time! The condo was very clean and beds were really comfortable. Linens and towels were abundant and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare all our meals. Of course, the lanai was a major highlight. The sunsets were beautiful, and the ocean breeze kept us cool. An awesome beach was only a mile south and downtown Kona was only a few miles away. We will definitely stay there again the next time we are in Kona!

the unit is just as you described liane; and in a perfect location. the air smells like plumerias. its near to the village for relaxing and hanging out. it was a great homebase for all our touring around. my partner and i went EVERYWHERE on the island (the volcano, mauna kea - which is NOT to be missed, south point, hapuna beach, akaka park, rainbow falls ...) and had a great place to come home to and relax every night. we made a trip to the costco, and also took advantage of the convenience store right across the street, and the supermarkets nearby for all our supplies. there's nothing like having your morning coffee, and your late day cocktails, on the lanai watching the surf and the sun and the moon. thanks for all your help and information!

Hello Liane, Just wanted to let you know we had a WONDERFUL stay at #308 Kona Bali Kai. The weather was pleasant, we didn't have to turn on the air conditioner even once, and the condos were SOoooo nice. We especially loved #308. We ate every meal on the lanai. (Very nicely arranged and outfitted kitchen by the way !) We loved just sitting out there and watching the birds and the turtles and even dolphins !! Also enjoyed walking out on the rocks to see the tidepools teaming with fish and sealife. And we appreciated the convenient location to the shopping areas and 2 really fun beaches just to the south of the condo location, plus an easy trip to town for dining out/touring at our leisure. Also wanted to let you know that we liked the condo arrangement so much that we are hoping to get a chance to come back to the Big Island next year and we would love to be able to stay at your place if it is available. It was perfect for us and we had a wonderful time ! Thanks so much.

I wanted to take my family of four to a convenient place with everything we needed. The parking is so convenient, you pull in to ground level parking (with it's own ocean view) and go up one flight of stairs to your front door. We stayed in 208. A nice screen door let's you enjoy the breeze, I liked that. Just to your right is the first bedroom which has a nice size bed and ample closet and drawer storage. To your left is the kitchen with a full size refrigerator, dishwasher, garbage disposal and all the basics you need if you like to cook for yourself. The kitchen is open with seating at the counter space, a dining room table is on the other side of that. There is a clothes washer and dryer in the condo conveniently located off the main room and there is also a full bathroom besides the one in the master bedroom. The main room extended into the living room area and then through sliding glass doors onto the lanai. At the end of the main room, to the right was the master bedroom that had three large room divider panels that let you open the room up to the living room for a really open feeling. The master also has a sliding glass door out to the lanai. You can see and hear the surf from both the living room and even just lying on the master bed. The air conditioning unit is in the master and can cool the whole place down if you want that, my wife did a couple of times. By now you might be guessing that I would recommend this property to a friend or relative. The unit was clean and nicely appointed with hi speed internet that we used for X-box, email and the web. The grounds were well maintained, the large gas grill on the lawn close to the unit was cleaned and set up for a new bbq daily. - The little shop across the street had a lot of the little things you might want for a snack and the people are very friendly. - There is a rental shop out front that has a good deal on your snorkel needs. - We loved the proximity to the little town to the north and the bays, coves and beaches to the south. We were there in April and the surf was just right for me to go out and do some boogie boarding. The tide pools out front had sea turtles and other sea life were a hit with my younger son. There is a small sandy beach that is private and a great place to relax and catch a few rays. We never got to the pool or jacuzzi but saw others enjoying it. To be honest the place was perfect for us as a family of four wanting to cook for ourselves and be on the go.

I have stayed at Sunny Kona Condos several times and can't wait to go back. Where else can you prepare a lovely dinner in the full kitchen, toast the sunset, and fall asleep to the sounds of the surf? In the morning over coffee on the lanai, I watch the expert surfers practice in the surf by the condo. Later, maybe it's a stroll down to tidepools on the property to watch the endangered green turtles and other sea life. It just doesn't get much better than that.

What a slice of paradise this spot is. It was amazingly relaxing to go to sleep at night listening to the waves rolling in just a stones throw away, or to sit on the lanai and drink coffee or cocktails while watching the surfers or the most amazing sunsets. I loved my experience here and it was the perfect place to really relax and get away from the pressures of my world. Additionally, it was conveniently located to outdoor market shopping, indoor trendy shopping, swimming, great dining, snorkeling, and sightseeing. Watching the giant turtles play in the water just off the shore was another amazing experience. Overall my experience here was amazing, and I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for an opportunity to really get away from the pressures of real life.

We have stayed here several times during the past few years, and have always enjoyed our stays so much that we wouldn't consider staying someplace else. The condo is toward the end of the building, away from the noisy pool area, is always clean and well-maintained, and is comfortably furnished and pleasantly decorated. The refrigerator and stove/oven are full-sized and the kitchen is fully equipped. The balcony is probably about 20 feet wide and right on the edge of the ocean (check out the photos). The view of the ocean and sealife is fantastic; one often sees sea turtles feeding right below the balcony, and spinner dolphins leaping out of the ocean. The building is right on an ancient surf spot, and there are usually surfers out there, maybe kayaks surfing the waves and even outrigger canoes too when the waves are big enough. Our favorite local attraction is the Keauhou farmers' market held at the Keauhou shopping center, a few miles south on Alii Drive, on Saturday mornings 8-noon; besides the many fresh fruit and vegetable stands (much of it organic), you can meet Kona coffee growers and taste and buy their coffee. There are also food stands, so no need to eat breakfast first, and a local band playing Hawaiian music. If you are a swimmer and the ocean is too rough, check out the Kona Aquatic Center, about a 1/2 mile north of dowtown on Kuakini Highway. It is a newer pool, and it is free.

There is always a surfer or many to entertain. See the turtles daily, they are amazing. We barbecued fresh fish and ate on the lanai every evening, how relaxing. We enjoyed shopping, a luau and site seeing on this incredible island. You know we will visit again as soon as possible.

My partner and I have been to Sunny Kona Condos numerous times and each time we have the most wonderful vacation experience. As with most people, we are on a budget, so it is great that the condo has a kitchen where we can cook breakfast, prepare lunch (for a day at the beach) and cook dinner. We also love staying here because it is located on the ocean (no seriously ON the ocean) and there is nothing like waking up to the sound of the waves of the Pacific just outside your windows. The condo is close to downtown Kona as well as wonderful beaches (Hapuna) and other vacation activities (snorkeling cruises, etc.). Waking up and sipping your cup of coffee on the lanai while you watch surfers catching the next wave just yards away from you is surreal and helps you realize that you are truly on vacation. If you are looking for a nice, relaxing vacation for yourself and a partner (or even a family!) this is a great destination!! I whole heartedly recommend Sunny Kona Condos for your next vacation...just don't book it when I want to be there! :)

Since then, we found your well-equipped kitchen a real treat to prepare the great, fresh local fish and produce. Thank you for stocking it so well and sharing it with us!
