We have stayed at Robin's wonderful home several times, and each time we leave look forward to returning. The house is clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. The pictures surely show what it looks like, but can't portray the love and warmth one feels while they are there. This place is one of a kind! The deck alone with its view of Mt. Si is worth the price. There is great hiking all around and breakfast or a burger at Twede's Cafe is a must. Not only would I recommend thus to friends, but I make them take me along.

A truly one-of-a-kind experience!
I must say, this home took our breath away! We thought we were in a dream home. There was so many charming and wonderful details to appreciate in this tastefully designed and furnished home. After cooking in this kitchen, I didn't want to go home again. There was an added bonus of the fenced in yard for our pup too! The location is so close to some beautiful hikes and yet we were close enough to Seattle that we were able to easily visit some highly recommended foodie destinations. We didn't want to leave and would love to come back again.

About the owner: ROBIN LAYTON During her 25 years as a photojournalist, renowned photographer, Robin Layton, has produced countless notable photographs and earned a place among the world’s top photographers. By age 24, she was honored by LIFE magazine as one of the eight most talented photographers in America. In 1991, her image of a young departing soldier, embracing his daughter on the USS John F. Kennedy, was chosen to be part of the Smithsonian exhibits. Her photo story on runaway teens in downtown Seattle was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. Sports enthusiasts will remember her iconic photograph of Ken Griffey Jr. from the 1995 American League playoffs (“The Smile at the Bottom of the Pile”). After an award-winning career in newspapers, including key positions with: The Virginian-Pilot, Cleveland Plain Dealer, and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Robin embarked on a freelance career that has taken her on documentary assignments around the world. Along the way, she has photographed prom queens to actual kings, street people to presidents; personalities from Oprah Winfrey to Shaquille O’Neal. She has also expanded the boundaries of traditional photography, combining her images with vintage found objects to create critically-acclaimed and highly sought art pieces. Recently, she was asked by Nikon to be one of 16 Ambassadors for the United States. She has photographed many books, 2 of her latest: A Letter To My Dog (chronicle) and hoop: the american dream (powerhouse) Robin custom designed her North Bend home, collecting old doors, 1850's tobacco sticks for the railings, wide plank barn wood flooring, hand hewn beams from the 1850's and custom cabinets throughout the house made by the Amish. She decorated it with antiques she's collected over 30 years.
