A fabulous country Plantation House and Estate on the wonderful rain forest side of the Island. This area is considered the ''Riviera'' of the Big Island, with the best weather, no volcanic haze what so ever as is typical of the west side, is totally safe, serene and peaceful. You will experience an almost zen-like calm here, and literally feel your blood pressure drop as you take in the natural beauty. This home is completely new from top to bottom, inside and out and was completed June 2012. A palm tree lined private drive leads you into the the gated botanical gardens surrounding the house. This home is designed for entertaining, and features a huge ocean view rear lanai, with two tiki bars, a pool table, and exterior kitchen. The interior has 3 beautifully decorated bedrooms, 2 with Queen Posturepedic beds, and one with two twins. There is also a den with a full size sofa sleeper, that has two ottomans to make it into a king bed. We can accommodate 3 or 4 couples, or 3 couples and 2 singles. Closets all have built in organizers to store away luggage, and there are two baths. A beautiful gourmet kitchen fully equipped with cherry cabinets, stainless steel appliances, and granite counters with a large center island that is open to the great room which has reclaimed barn wood beams, and many large windows to take in the garden views. There is also a formal dining room with picture windows with views of the botanical gardens, stream and ocean. The large covered entry leads to an office with built-ins, a small library sitting area in case you need to do some work while on vacation and we have free WI_FI. This is a lush romantic tropical retreat for adult couples, or just as perfect for family reunions or get togethers with friends. High end finishes, custom moldings, trim work and hardwood are everywhere. You can sip your wonderful Kona coffee from the Tiki bar, or the kitchen island, while watching the whales and cruise ships sail by. Don't want to miss the game? There is a 55'' flat screen television in the great room, with upgraded 200 channel Dishnet package and free wifi too, and a 32'' in the master. The nearly two acre botanical gardens are landscaped with hundreds of tropical specimens, and many edibles like apple bananas, mango, papayas, passion fruit, and citrus varieties, all surrounding a lagoon style dipping pool. We are located on the scenic east side of the island, the rain forest side. Just 5 minutes from Umauma Falls and Akaka Falls, and two of the best zip lines in all of Hawaii. Also within minutes is the best surf beach on the island, Honolii, and historic Laupahoehoe Beach Park with BBQ gazebos, showers, hiking, fishing,and snorkeling. Laupahoehoe Village features a Train Museum, history of the Hamakua Coast sugar industry and the famous Fifties Diner visited by vintage car enthusiasts the world over. There are spectacular botanical gardens with the most beautiful coastal scenery, and nearby horseback riding or Atvs to take it all in. Activities here are for just about any age or interests.

About the owner: Greg and Gloria are originally from Dana Point California, and have been on the island for 13 years. We started bringing our children here for family vacations more than 2o years ago, always planning to move here on each and every trip. Greg had a construction, remodeling and landscaping business on the mainland, and Gloria worked as an American Express Travel agent, specializing in Hawaii of course. Once we arrived here we started an new remodeling business which we just retired from. In 2012 we decided to make our home a vacation rental. So many friends and family members had suggested we do this over the last 8 years it felt like we were meant to.
Why the Owner Chose Ninole: We have spent nine years building, remodeling, adding to and landscaping the property into the place it was always meant to be. It was a sad little shack when we first got here, and our slogan is from '' Humble Hovel'' to ''Heavenly Haven'' and we hope you will feel the same.
