Map & Owner's Profile
Beach Front 4-Star Villa with Spectacular Sunset, Ocean View
Year Purchased: 2007
Why the Owner Chose Pelican Watch
Seabrook is a unique location. A quiet gated mixed community of beautiful homes and well kept villa groupings, Seabrook offers peace and tranquility while many activities are close at hand. In looking for a retirement place we visited Savanah, Hilton Head, Myrtle Beach and Charlotte; none of these locations was even close in quality to Charleston and Seabrook Island. We vacationed on Seabrook for 5 years before we bought our beachfront unit and love it more & more with each visit.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
Two championship golf courses, gourmet restaurants, an equestrian center, 14 Har-Tru tennis courts, miles of bike and nature paths, marsh streams for kayaking and over 6 miles of uncrowded sand beaches are available on Seabrook Island. In addition, the city of Charleston with a full range of dining and cultural activities is only 30 minutes away. We especially enjoy swimming in the Edisto River (tidal, salt water inlet from the Atlantic), walking along the beach, seeing dolphins, pelicans and seabirds and watching sunsets from our deck.
Owner's Map of Pelican Watch
Life-long Midwesterners currently living in WI. We have three children and two new grandsons. One of our primary reasons for purchasing a beach front unit was the possibility of taking each grandkid swimming, fishing and kayaking on Seabrook.

This condo was a comfortable representation of the pictures. It was right on beach - visable sunsets right from the couch... Seabrook Island is filled with wonderful locals - Great vacation spot - feels like home. Charleston near by for touring. Great markets near by for food and shopping. Lots of great things to say about rental property and Seabrook Island - I took my golden retreiver, Brewski, and he was welcomed by several dog friends as well on island. Highly suggest this condo and Seabrook.

We had a wonderful week. The location of the condo was perfect for us - easy access to the beach which made walking the dogs very convenient. The condo itself was very well appointed except for the stove which had aproblem burner. This in no way affected our cooking ability. We would recommend it to anyone as a great place to stay.
Owner response:Thanks for letting us know about the stove burner. We will get that fixed right away so our villa stays in top-notch condition! So glad you and the dogs enjoyed your visit...... Janet & Ted

I stayed in the Pelican Watch Villas for the fourth consecutive year. Each year brings new discoveries and an equally relaxing week of vacation. The walks along the beach are enjoyable and the sunsets over the bay are spectacular night after night! Watch for the dolphins and the shrimp boats - a daily occurrence! Seabrook Island is a short drive from historic Charleston, which is uniquely charming, full of incredible stories about a significant time in U.S. history.

We enjoyed a 10-day visit to Charleston, Seabrook Island, Kiawah Island, and Savannah, using Pelican Watch as our base. The villa was clean and fully equipped with many things to do no matter what the weather. The recommended restaurants were outstanding and the area residents very hospitable, friendly, and helpful. The covered deck was appreciated because it was warm enough to sit out in the rain! We enjoyed the sunsets (as promised), dolphins, deer roaming on the dunes, shrimp boats, sail boats, beautiful golf courses, and pet friendly atmosphere at the villa. Freshfields Village was a good place to stroll and they happened to be having their fall artfair and store sales. Maxwell's Market was the perfect place to buy whatever we needed to take back to the condo to enjoy. The only thing we missed was an outdoor grill, but the wonderful restaurants made up for it! Magnolia Gardens and the Tea Plantation/Irvin Vineyards were both worth the short trip. Angel Oak is a must see and close to Seabrook Island. Lots to do here, or snuggle up with a book from the basket of books in the villa, whatever your pleasure.

My husband & I wanted a place near the ocean that wasn't commercialized so that we could escape the very hectic world we live in for a few days. This location was perfect. There were deer on the dunes grazing, dolphins playing, shrimping and fishing boats going by, and such amazing sunsets. It was so quiet and everyone there was very respectful of each other. We drove into Charleston every other day to take in the historic sites which took about 40-45 minutes each way. I would definitely go back. The only recommendation I would make is that each of the villa numbers be lit up in the evening. The numbers cannot be seen after dark so I had a difficult time knowing which building to park at. Until we were familiar with the facility I had to get out of the car and walk up to the building in order to see which one we were staying in. Not a big deal but it would definitely be an improvement to the complex.

My favourite holiday

What a fabulous holiday - 3 weeks of pure bliss. After arriving at the same time as Irene and a slight risk of evacuation which ended in just securing the patio furniture, the rest was great. I was in Seabrook Island 20 years ago but my Belgian husband had never been and has fallen in love with the resort. I have been to several places in the States as well as in Europe and Seabrook has maintained it's wonderful features and beautiful natural landscape. We had only one real peeve and that is the prices at the Beach Club which are way OTT for very very average food..... So, we cooked at home or went out to Bohicket or somewhere else. The apartment is very tastefully furnished and extremely well equipped.. We added a couple of beach towels, a nice beach chair and parasol as they are a bit difficult to take on a frlight back to Europe. Thank you for making our holiday most enjoyable and I would fully recommendf the property to any couple looking for a calm and relaxing holiday. We certainly hope to be back ! A corner of paradise........
