Creemore is a small village 5 minutes away in the valley of the Mad and Noisy Rivers known best for its craft beer brewery, Creemore Springs. The village has good restaurants, grocery, drug store, post office for essentials and some interesting specialty stores.
The Town of Collingwood,17,000 pop. is 15 minutes away has a variety of local restaurants, pubs, theatres,specialty stores, as well as all the big box retailers.
There are a half dozen private ski clubs and golf courses in the area as well as the Blue Mountain Resort, 30 minutes away.
Plenty of hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing close by on the Niagara Escarpment and the Bruce Trail.
