My wife, 2 boys and our dog just spent a great 3 days at this cabin. The cabin is very spacious, clean and well-maintained and nicely decorated. It's also close to town and Boreal. We would definitely recommend it Winter or summer.

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

Quiet and Comfortable Cabin

This cabin was decorated adorable and was very comfortable. We had four adults and two children. It was the perfect size for us. Too many more people and it may have been a little cramped. The kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils and pots and pans you would need. The layout of the cabin was great and accommodated us nicely. There were toys for the kids and having wifi was an added bonus. Everything seemed very clean and well maintained. The location was perfect; close to town, near the beginning of Tahoe Donner and on a quiet street. We had an amazing time and will definitely rent this cabin again.

We came in late spring to enjoy some more skiing around Truckee and had a marvelous time. The cabin is wonderful! Very inviting, cozy, well-furnished. More than enough room for our family of 2 adults and 3 kids. This is truly a gem of a home and we are so appreciative that it is available to rent.

Excellent Vacation

I stayed at this property with family spouse, 3.5 year old kid and parents. There were enought beds, blankets, towels for everyone. The place in in middle of beautiful Donner area - woods close to grocery store, gas station, starbucks. Evenryone enjoyed walking though the woods, playing in snow - snowball fights, making snowman. There are 2 DVD players and lots of toys for kids - my 3.5 year old had a blast. The host is extremely friendly and helpful. With online payment facility the booking was extremely easy. The only issue we faced is unavailability of AT&T cellphone signal - we had to download voip to be able to use cellphone. Over-all for vacation - great place for the price.

The cabin is perfect for multiple families. We had a group of 5 adults and 2 children and were hardly cramped. The place could sleep a few more and would still be comfortable with more children, but might feel a bit tight with more adults. The kitchen was stocked with most of the cookware we needed and had kid-friendly dishware. The owners were very accommodating. When we expressed concern that weather could delay or cancel our trip, they replied that they would give us a full refund or rebook the date. Luckily this didn't happen and we had a wonderful time!

Steve - the place was awesome. Very easy to get to off the 80 in Truckee, great location, very, very clean and everything was provided! Great place!

This was a comfortable, cozy home away from home for our spring visit to the area and most reasonably priced. Very centrally located for our day trips to Napa Valley, Sacramento, Truckee, Reno, and most of all the Lake Tahoe region. Gorgeous mountain vistas

We very much enjoyed this lovely home. It was convenient to everything, neat and clean, and was very quiet and peaceful. We were quite comfortable there, and we would definitely rent this property again. I highly recommend this property.

I had a very fine stay here in fall 2007. The owners are very helpful, and the rates are very good. The house is spacious, comfortable, quiet, and pleasantly decorated.

Great place to stay. Easy to get to from the Bay Area. The house had everything we needed. My children loved playing in the snow. It's a great family vacation place.

We had a wonderful snowboarding getaway at Whispering Pines. The cabin itself was roomy, spacious and clean. The owners had done a lot of renovations to the place. We were able to sleep 8 people comfortably, and there was even enough room for all of us to dine together. The location was also great--close to nearby grocery stores, and our snowboarding resort (took 15-20 minutes). The owner was very responsive to all of our questions, which helped make our stay even more pleasant.

We just had a very enjoyable Thanksgiving week at this cabin. It was very comfortable and just the right size for our 3 adults and 2 children. Nice gas-burning fireplace. The rate was fantastic for the week. Very quiet street. Our kids were older so it was fine, but you may not want to trust the railing to toddlers.
