| Here is a getaway home that is perfect for your family or friends for a couple of days or a couple of weeks. Perched above Agate Beach on the beautiful central Oregon coast, its three floors include four bedrooms, two-and-one-half baths, two kitchens, dining room, living room with wood-burning fireplace, and a family room which opens to a patio set above your very private, enclosed, swimming pool which is open and heated in the summer.
And there is not just one room with a view; all eight look out over majestic spruce and pine trees on to an unobstructed Pacific Ocean vista.
The Hull House was designed by Richard Sundeleaf and built in 1938 with an exterior of cedar shakes, which ideally fits in with the locale. Landscaping on the front side includes a spacious lawn, indigenous trees, paths and rockery; on either side of the house lie flower gardens with set-aside quiet sitting areas for reading and meditation; the westside's almost 180-degree ocean exposure area includes a lawn for volleyball, badminton, or croquet, swings, teeter totters, and a protected area with table and benches for picnics including a large pot for open fire roasting. Comfortable and relaxing, this area is especially recommended for ocean gazing - nap taking is usually irresistible, but be sure to waken in time for the beautiful sunsets.
Before you become permanently ensconced in your own private and tranquil setting we hasten to add that there are other pleasures you might want to enjoy during your getaway. How about a lush, nine-hole, golf course two minutes from your house? Interested in some ocean fishing or how about a visit to the world famous aquarium or the nearby lighthouse with hiking paths galore? There are restaurants for every budget or taste, and exploring the historic bay waterfront is a must. It should not take you more than 15 minutes to get to any of these attractions, but do not forget you have got your own piece of deserted beach and paradise waiting for you to return. |
