Come visit our brick, one-level beach house in "Paradise Retreat." Just a short stroll to the Emerald Waters of the Gulf of Mexico. We are the first beach home in the Paradise Retreat community and the closest to the deeded beach access.We hope you will be as excited as we are in this four-bedroom, two full bath home. Dressed in a nautical style in appreciation of the coastal lifestyle and in celebration of the mystical creature the "Mermaid."
We offer a PRIVATE SWIMMING POOL - NO you do not have to share with a community! Or an entire condominium! It is all yours.
The master bedroom is private and features its own large bath, a walk-in closet, beautifully furnished and top-of-line KING-size bedding, color TV, DVD. The master bedroom goose down sofa is ready for you to curl up with your laptop (FREE INTERNET CONNECTION). or a Great Book.
The large great room is sunny & bright with natural sunlight,a large sectional sofa which has a queen sleeper for those extra friends! plenty of seating, TV, DVD, furnished with books & movies, games,cards, & you can sit & enjoy the pool view from the great room.
Two children's bedrooms both have twin beds & TV/DVD in each bedroom. The boys bedroom comes with an X BOX. The Girls bedroom is filled with Barbie Dolls & games, "dress up items"

Why the Owner Chose Paradise Retreat
We were experiancing our FIRST HURRICANE as Florida residents. We were fish out of water so to speak. The hotel's were full & somehow we found a single family home to lease for the week. I was so very disapointed in the rental. It was not clean, the bed linens were old & tattered,
It was a big disapointment to the entire family. I set out to do such a better job on our rental. It has been a most rewarding experiance. I have met some of the finest families I would have never met other wise. So many of our guests come back year after year & I find that a true compliment & testament to our resolve
to give our guests the cleanests, most confortable & enjoyable beach home that they can feel is their beach house . My heart is grateful to all our guests.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We have a large gas
grill, games for the children, beach chairs & beach toys.DVD's for children & adults. We have a fully stocked kitchen with all the pans for frying seafood to making frozen drinks. We are pet
frindly, & we ask our guests prior to their visit if they have any special needs. We have rented
wheelchairs, provided Birthday parties, & both owner & the rental manager are very close by if
something goes bump in the night.

I am a local Destin Realtor. I moved from Atlanta to Destin in 1999 with my "just retired" husband & our two teen daughters. It was my plan to hang up my real estate shingle & retire, however I became so excited about the area I just had to shout from the rooftops! I became a one woman chamber of commerce on Destin Florida. We love it here & could not think of living any where else. The mild climate, the beautiful white sand, the fishing & great food on the gulf coast plus good colleges
for my girls. It has it all & I like to share.

We picked the Mermaid house after staying in the same neighborhood the previous year. It did not dissappoint! The rooms were ideal, the bedding wonderful- and the pool just made our kids week! We really had a wonderful time, and the golf cart made it easy to get the family to the beach when desired! Thanks for having us, we would like to stay here next year!

This house has everything you need to please your family. The house has 4 bikes, beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, small refrig in the garage and an awesome street legal golf cart that you can use to go back and forth to the beach!! The pool is a nice size and very private. The owner had so many special touches around the house and even had a welcome basket just for our family. We have stayed is so many different size condos and houses in the Destin area over the past 15 years and we highly recommend the Mermaid House!!

This is our first year at the mermaid house but not our last! The house is very close to beach,very clean,and has a quiet neighborhood.Police drive around at night, so we felt safe outside with dogs.I met Sheila, her husband and Brent all were very nice. I have rented at least 5 houses in Destin area, some directly on beach ,this is the BEST. The pool is the largest of all the homes we have stayed at. We will be back next year!

My husband, two 'grown' daughters, and fat dachshund stayed in the lovely Mermaid House two years ago, we had a wonderful time, would have stayed last year, but our eldest daughter got married, so we have added a son-in-law and another dachshund! and are counting the days until we return this year! What a great place to hang out-I live in Destin and just wanted a change of scenary-what better beaches than Destin-This place is just like home with extra ammenities-If you have never been here you must try it out- walk to the beach, take the golf cart-stay in and get in your private hot tub and pool-No one to bother you

I don’t know where to start – what was better? Personal welcomes from Brent and Sheila? The location (FABULOUS!)? The neighborhood? The golf cart? The pool? Every last detail, beach toy, chair, piece of furniture, utensil, etc. thought of for us? The homey feel and beautifully decorated house? It was all perfect!! And as I type this, I can’t tell you how many memories come flooding back! Honestly, we absolutely LOVED this home as did my parents and our children. It really was a home away from home for us. We wanted or looked for NOTHING. We didn’t even have to use our beach shovels/toys because everything was already there and it was better! Umbrellas, games, bikes – everything! Even the pillows and beds and towels were luxurious – and I’m very picky about that! We recently stayed at the Mermaid House and LOVED it ! We had 6 adults and 4 children and had more than enough room for eating, sleeping and playing. Brent was wonderful and was willing to go above and beyond to help us out. I would definitely recommend this home whether you have a small group, or large. If we vacation in the Miramar Beach/Destin area again, we'll be staying at the Mermaid House !

Our family stayed for the first time at the Mermaid House last July 4th week and had the best time ever! We loved it so much that we are staying once again this year. The house is just beautiful and CLEAN!! Shelia made us feel that the house was ours. The pool and hot tub were wonderful.
