  Excellent, the Mermaid House and Angela exceeded our expectations. My wife and I along with Taz (our pet Maltese) spent the month of Jan 2013 in the Mermaid House. Needless to say, we loved the Mermaid House and its location, and found it to be a really good value. At our arrival at the Mermaid House Angela met us to walk us through the house. It was definitely a plus because we did not have to do a lot of searching to locate things. The Mermaid House layout and décor were fantastic. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare meals and having a gas grill was a plus. The airy open space in dining/great room added to our comfort. We loved having everything on one floor which is perfect for seniors. The garage is a nice feature; we were able to store our cooler, fishing rods and reels, and suitcases in the garage. The mini refrigerator in the garage was perfect for keeping the beer cold. There were adult and kid bikes and a golf cart stored in the garage. This past January we enjoyed the mild days by going out for bike rides in the neighborhood and along the Scenic Highway bike path. This was our third January snowbird vacation in the Miramar Beach area and our stay at the Mermaid House was by far the most enjoyable. Kudos to Angela, she is number one in our book.

  The Mermaid House definitely lives up to its reputation in all the previous comments. The house is beautifully decorated, stocked with almost anything you could need, the golf cart is a definite plus for getting to and from the beach and the washers and dryers were awesome. The weather was not nice enough to use the outdoor pool but we really enjoyed and made good use of the outdoor grill and the area around the pool. Even with the cool and rainy weather, we were still able to be on the beach 3 or 4 times including Christmas Day. The house has a very nice location about 2 blocks from the beach and inside a gated community. The house was clean and appeared to be well maintained. The large diing room table and 8 chairs was certainly well used for both eating most of our meals and for games. It was really nice that we all got to sit together for the meals. We were also grateful to be able to bring our children's pet. Angela was awesome to work with and very available. The welcome basket was appreciated and enjoyed. Thanks We did visit the Destin Mall (Outlet Mall just west), the Resurection Catholic Church, the fresh fish market, grocery store, and several local resturants. Old Bay Steamers on Okalossa Island was an awesome place to eat.

  OMG Where to start? This house is amazingly beautiful, beautiful rooms, beautiful decorations, beautiful poool, just beautiful! Angela was SUPER nice and helpful & was easy to get a hold of. We had read in the guest book about other guests talking about a welcome basket, which we didnt have, so I called Angela and she informed me that the owner stopped doing them. Well the next morning we woek up and there was a basket of all kinds of great things for us! She had even included some little toys for my little boy! There was a picture frame and some snacks. It was such a sweet and generous gift & it definitely sealed the deal for us coming back next year! We actually reserved the house for next year while still on vacation. It was just awesome, you won't be disappointed. The pool was also great to have, seeing as a couple of days that we were there the beaches were red flagged because of rip currents. The golf cart was another plus. it made it alot easier to get to the beach than driving our vehicles. I can't say enough how nice this property is along with Angela & the owner!

  This I our 4th year at the Mermaid House and our whole family loves it. We are all comfortable and everything is convenient. Even our Boston's love the visit. If you are looking for a house on the beach, I can't recommend the Mermaid House enough! Thanks, Angela, for meeting all of our needs and for filling us in on some of Destin's favorite restaurants! Sheila, thanks for sharing your beautiful home with my family! See y'all next year!

  We had the most enjoysble and relaxing stay of our lives at the Mermaid House. It was wonderful as a family of 5 to be able to spread out in the four bedrooms vs a hotel room. The Mermaid house has everything you need it truly is a home away from home. And what a treat to arrive home from a vacation with our laundry all clean!! The beachs were gorgeous - it really feels as if your on a tropical island somewhere. We spent our whole week on the beach in the pool and eating out. We loved all the restaurants right on the beach. There are so many things to do nearby but honestly we were all happy just hanging out. My children ages 10,6, and 4 will always remember this family vacation. We really hope to be able to come back next year.

  This was an amazing vacation, I love Destin and our one year old son loved it!! Having a private pool is a plus and the golf cart was a big help.... Thanks for the many wonderful memories....

  We picked the Mermaid house after staying in the same neighborhood the previous year. It did not dissappoint! The rooms were ideal, the bedding wonderful- and the pool just made our kids week! We really had a wonderful time, and the golf cart made it easy to get the family to the beach when desired! Thanks for having us, we would like to stay here next year!

  This house has everything you need to please your family. The house has 4 bikes, beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, small refrig in the garage and an awesome street legal golf cart that you can use to go back and forth to the beach!! The pool is a nice size and very private. The owner had so many special touches around the house and even had a welcome basket just for our family. We have stayed is so many different size condos and houses in the Destin area over the past 15 years and we highly recommend the Mermaid House!!

  This is our first year at the mermaid house but not our last! The house is very close to beach,very clean,and has a quiet neighborhood.Police drive around at night, so we felt safe outside with dogs.I met Sheila, her husband and Brent all were very nice. I have rented at least 5 houses in Destin area, some directly on beach ,this is the BEST. The pool is the largest of all the homes we have stayed at. We will be back next year!

  My husband, two 'grown' daughters, and fat dachshund stayed in the lovely Mermaid House two years ago, we had a wonderful time, would have stayed last year, but our eldest daughter got married, so we have added a son-in-law and another dachshund! and are counting the days until we return this year! Sheila was so sweet and the house is perfect. Looking forward and have the days numbered! Thanks for all you do!
