'Two cultural VIPs (from the Curtis Institute and Kimmel Center) bought this roomy log cabin in 2012 as an escape from city life. Then they gave it an overhaul, adding the perfect mix of vintage elements (an enameled wood stove from Norway) and new stuff (spa-like bathrooms, a private suite) for a gorgeous upscale-yet-cozy look. Lucky for you they're willing to share. Drive 20 minutes and you'll find Lake Nockamixon, antiques shops, and quaint enclaves like Frenchtown.'

About the owner: I live in downtown Philadelphia in a 4 story townhouse built in 1803. I grew up in a family that developed property for over 100 years, so my love of interesting architecture and restoring houses is in my blood.
Why the Owner Chose Upper Black Eddy: There is no type of property that offers such a distinctly warm and welcoming appeal as a log home. By updating the house without making it too contemporary, I think that Raspberry Hill has a unique combination of sophistication and rustic charm.
The Unique Benefits at this House: The outdoor property is vey private and quite beautiful. Although a log house, all of the technology you could ever want is available.
