Glory Mountain cottage rental is named appropriately because the view from this house is straight from heaven overlooking far range mountains and nearby horse pastures on the side of the mountain. Located on a 12 acre estate shared with only one other house, this house is rare in its privacy yet still only 10 minutes to Boone NC and 15 minutes to Banner Elk NC. It also is within walking distance of the Watauga River for fishing, tubing, or just playing in the water.
The house has 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, and sleeps 11 comfortably. Enjoy the cathedral ceilings and hardwood floors throughout the house that is beautifully decorated with quality furniture, antiques, homemade quilts and goose down covers all in a mountain theme. The playroom has plenty of fun things for the kids of all ages to do including a pool table, ping pong and lots of toys for the younger ones.
The bedrooms are all decorated beautifully with comfortable mattresses and quality linens. The master bedroom with king bed and private bath has hardwood floors, custom draperies, and lots of space. There is an additional twin sleeper in this room, should a child like to remain close! Two of the other bedrooms have queen beds, hardwood floors and a view. The 4th bedroom is just for kids with 2 bunk beds, TV with Game Cube, and away from the adults.
The spacious living room has a cathedral ceiling, hardwood floors, a Vermont Casting gas flame stove, overstuffed chairs and comfortable sofas are all cozy and great for watching the big screen TV or just having family fun.
Dining can be in the kitchen with its floor to ceiling windows looking out on the beautifully landscaped lawn and view of nearby mountains or there is also a formal dining table that seats 8. In the summer there is the outside patio table and also a picnic table to enjoy the peaceful view and wide open spaces.
The outside screened-in porch with rocking chairs and sitting areas is peaceful and relaxing and overlooks a wooded forest where deer and wild turkey emerge to feed at the feeding station. Don’t forget the fire pit that sits out under the magnificent stars that can be seen from this house that has no light pollution. If you want to see the Milky Way in all its real splendor, this is the house. This house is perfect for a large family reunion or just a small family wanting to get away from it all.
Handicap accessible with limitations.
Please remember, 4WD or chains are always recommended when visiting the mountains in winter.

Homeowner Response:
Actually, this is not considered a steep driveway for this area, very little here in the mountains is flat. But for those considering a winter visit, we do have the driveways plowed during inclement weather.

We had a really good 3 nights here. Really nice place to visit is the Blowing Rock. It's cool to see how the winds blow everything back up. We enjoyed the hot tub and the pool table. The cabin is really nice. Thanks for a great spring break.

We enjoyed visiting this lovely area. Your location and views are glorious- truly! The view from the top of your property is breath taking. It was cold, wet and snowy for half of our visit so we spent a lot of time by the fire, which we enjoyed. We did have 2 days in the 50's and great hikes at Moses Cone Park & a trip to Grandfather Mountain. Did lots of driving & loved the Valle Crucis Nast Store. Sad to leave- we hope to come back.

Enjoyed the cabin and even got a tad of skiing in. Dogs loved the acreage as you suggested they would.
