There is a private dock for your use and your boat can be hoisted in the water from the Crab Shack, which is within walking distance! You are just minutes from the Atlantic Ocean, Warsaw Sound or Bull River by boat. Whether you enjoy in-shore or offshore fishing, cruising or dolphin watching, it is all a boat ride away. Bring the fishing rods and fish off the dock!
The gorgeous sunsets, sun rises and gentle ocean breezes on Chimney Creek, which is a tidal creek, will relax you as you enjoy the peacefulness and serenity from the long front porch or the private, covered dock. We have the very best view of the creek, the beautiful sunrises and sunsets along with gorgeous full moons! Sit in the rocking chairs on the porch and enjoy all the creek has to offer. Have your ever gone crabbing? No? You can crab from the dock! Don't know how? We'll even tell you how and furnish you with crab baskets! Maybe you will even see a dolphin as they explore the creek. There are two bicycles at the home if you want to explore the area in a 'scenic' way.
The house looks out on Chimney Creek and is furnished with comfy Italian leather living room furniture and features a master bedroom fit for a king and queen. The second bedroom has a set of bunk beds along with a single bed complete with a trundle. The couch in the living room makes into a queen-size sleeper. Each bed has a thick mattress for your sleeping comfort. You can look out onto the creek from the living room and bedroom windows.
There is a 32 inch television in the living room and a 27 inch in both bedrooms. All have satellite TV plus a DVD/CD/VCR player for your movie or music enjoyment. The house comes fully furnished with extra linens and plenty of towels. We also provide soap, laundry detergent and paper products. The kitchen is completely furnished for your cooking and eating needs.
Don't want to carry a bunch of dirty vacation clothes home? There is a laundry room with a washer and dryer to remedy that. There is a screened-in room on the ground level with a picnic table plus a half bath and covered parking for two vehicles.
We own and maintain the property ourselves and stay there with our families so you will find it very well cared for. Come and enjoy the peace and tranquillity at Pelican Point, on Chimney Creek, away from the noise and crowd. It has the quaintness of a New England fishing village with palm trees and you're only two miles from the beach!
You're also walking or riding distance to the world famous Crab Shack. Where the 'elite eat in their bare feet'. Where your kids can see and feed over 70 baby alligators in the 'alligator pit'.
Enjoy the fabulous seafood that is available in Coastal Georgia. Ever had alligator tail, shark or calamari? There is a wide variety of seafood to choose from. A low country boil is another south Georgia favorite.
You can enjoy the quietness of the creek or just a two mile drive will take you to the Atlantic Ocean. Frolic in the waves or bask in the sun and enjoy watching the waves roll in. Want to do some shopping? Tybee (which means 'salt') Island offers a wide variety of quaint shops, restaurants and lots of enjoyment for anyone of any age. The beach is wide and only 3 miles long but has plenty of sunbathing space. It is nicknamed the 'Redneck Riviera'.
You can also visit Fort Screven and the world famous Tybee Lighthouse, the only working lighthouse in Georgia. Just across the bridge visit historic Fort Pulaski, which was once captained by Robert E. Lee and is now a national park.
If history interests you there is plenty to see and learn in Savannah, just a short 15-minute drive, which was Georgia's first city. Come take a tour of the city and see it's majestic homes and learn some secrets from long ago. If you can brave the night be sure to go on a Ghost Tour, the residents are waiting to bid you welcome. Don't pass up River Street, where the ships from England docked during Colonial times.
Did you know that the cobblestones on River Street weighed the ship down on its journey over, then they were unloaded in Savannah and cotton was loaded on the ship? Come see why Savannah's beauty is a favorite location for a lot of movies and is ranked as a top ten vacation spot in the United States.
City Market was the historic trading area of Savannah. A wide variety of restaurants, clubs, stores and artists can be found on River Street and City Market. The Cotton Exchange on River Street is where long ago cotton prices all over the world were set and is now a restaurant with great food.
Be sure to check out St. Patrick's Day too! Over 250,000 of the finest come to turn themselves green and watch the second largest parade in the US. You'll also find plenty of music, crafts, artists, food and green beer.
