And there are the famous elephant seals....moreless

Year Purchased: 1992
About the owner: I am a singer songwriter, performer and I live here alone. Raised my two daughters in this home. Birthed the second one here, who is 17 now. I was born in Bar Harbor, Maine, but moved to California when I was 19. First, Los Angeles for 14 years, because I was in the music business and still am. But when my first daughter was still less than 2, I wanted to move out of the city to a quiet village to raise her and ever since my husband and I visited Cambria and were married, in 1985, in the Old Santa Rosa Chapel, a historical site now, a stone's throw from this house, I had wanted to live here. When my music became successful enough, we moved here in 1992.
Why the Owner Chose Cambria:
The minute we moved to Cambria, this was the house I wanted. Because there is nothing else like it here. A stately Victorian with a beautiful English rose garden complete with boxwood hedges in the front, and the elegance it evoked, just made me fall in love with it. Because I do keep the place very neat and it is filled with precious antiques, I do ask for no pets or children in renting the house. Just one couple or one single adult.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Because I am a composer, I think the 1926 Mason & Hamlin parlor grand piano is quite a unique benefit here. For a musician that wants to get away and write, for instance, in a quiet, peaceful space with a sense of history that might just spark new creativity, this is definitely the place.
