FABULOUS VILLA!

We just returned from a 2 week stay in this villa and have to say it is absolutely perfect in every way. We've stayed at several others on St. Maarten, but none compare to this one. We were pleasantly surprised to see how clean and well kept it was - not so at some of the others. There were 5 adults and 2 toddlers and the villa had plenty of space for everyone. The downstairs bedrooms are all huge. My husband and I had the enormous upstairs penthouse and really enjoyed the privacy it offered. Of the 3 upstairs balconies, our favorite overlooked Simpson Bay. I had my morning coffee there, would read a book or we'd have a drink before turning in at night. It was just incredibly relaxing. Our entire group loved the pool area. It was spacious as well, with plenty of chairs, sunny and shady areas and beautiful plants and palm trees. We spent just about every afternoon there while the little ones took their naps. The villa is located in a perfect area, with lots of nice beaches, bars, casinos and restaurants close by. We're already talking about a return trip and will definitely rent this villa again. Many thanks to Rick and his wife for sharing their little piece of paradise with us!

The pictures for this home do not do it justice! It took our breath away, from the moment we entered the property. We are a group of 8 women who felt safe on the island and very comfortable in this house. The property manager was very helpful and even brought us to the grocery store. We did not rent a car and it was an easy walk to town. We found a very friendly taxi driver (Henry) who brought us around the island a couple of times and he was very reasonable. Personally I wouldn't rent a car...getting around was very easy for our group. The property was clean and all the staff we met were friendly and professional. This is our first time renting a home. Normally we do all inclusive resorts.....never again. We are already planning our return trip and we are definitely going to rent from Rick again. He was easy to deal with and quickly responded to any questions or emails we sent him.

We have stayed at Rick & Marie's beautiful home multiple times and we are already planning the next visit. Everytime we return they have updated something. You really have to see this place in person to appreciate the beautiful views. Very private,very quiet,paradise. The food on the Island is very very, good. Pineapple Pete's, Topper's, Cheri's. and many more. Just to many great things to do to mention. Do yourself a favor and make this your next vacation. You will never regret it!!!!!!

I knew from the moment we walked into this beautiful house this trip would be one to remember You have an amazing house!We had a great time here in St Maarten. This was my 4th time staying with Rick and Marie. Words do not do this home justice. You have to come and experience for yourself. Everything you need is right here including a pet dog and some Iguanas. We loved waking up and heading straight to the pool for a splash. The patio around the pool is great even when it rains. You are so close to many things including Sunset Grill where you can be blown away literally. The upstairs is terrific however my favorite is still the bedroom by the pool :)

This is a paradise that you can only appreciate in person. Thank you for opening up your home. We stayed one week in Summer 2010 and would highly recommend this home for anyone's next vacation. Rick and Marie, Thank you very much for the rental of your home in SXM. This has become our home away from home. We love coming back to this ever improving house in paridise. The morning sunrises and walks along the beach are one of my favorite things to do. We went on the Rhino Rides and had a blast - great recommendation. Pineapple Petes' restaurant on Tuesday nites is very entertaining - love the live band. The improvements, including the BBQ were spectacular. Every trip back becomes a new experience. You guys are the best hosts, Thanks again, The Vittis

We just returned from a week and loved every minute of it. We went with our 3 children ranging in age from 18 to 30 and everyone had a good time. The food on the island is great and there are some beautiful beaches. There is much to see and do or you can just sit by the pool and enjoy the absolutely gorgeous view. I was worried about possible airplane noise but that was not a problem. It's actually quite exciting to be able to watch them take off and land. The location of the villa is great for getting around although the St. Martin roads leave something to be desired. Rick is easy to work with and very accomodating. Having the phone to the US is wonderful and a nice perk. We would highly recommend a visit to St. Martin and in particular to this villa.

We stayed at your house July 12 thru July 19, 2008 and it was absolutely awesome. The view was spectacular and we spent most of our time around the pool. We normally come to St Martin twice a year and this is the nicest place that we have ever stayed at. We all became very fond of Prince and Jo-Jo and fed them every day. We plan to bring our grandson there in 2010 for his graduation. He saw the pictures and let us know right away that he wanted to stay in your house. The only suggestion that I would make is that you might need to put a railing on the stairway to the penthouse suite. My husband and I stayed in the suite and it was kind of hard to go up and down the stairs since we are retired which means we are older. Thank you for sharing your retreat with us. It was the best vacation that we ever had.

Our family spent Christmas Week at Seaside Retreat and we'd all go back in a heart beat. The house is very spacious with all amenities. Views of Simpson Bay are spectacular. It's a great location as we really toured all the island. In the afternoons we could walk to Sunset Beach Bar and watch the planes land and take off. We had one minor electrical issue which Rick (Owner) had fixed within one hour, and that was on Christmas Eve. Would definitely get this house on our trip to SXM.

Rick and Marie, We have just returned from our second year in a row at Seaside retreat, and I have to say, we love it there. Spectacular!! The pictures on the Website do not do show just how beautiful the house is. Have rented homes in Maui & Oahu at much higher prices and this house by far has been the best. Great views,security,privacy.This is the place to unwind or not unwind depending on what you like. Bars, nightclubs, casinos.It's all here!!!. Counting the days until we return. Sorry Hawaii, Seaside Retreat is the place to be!!!.

We just returned from our 7th trip to St Maarten and second year in a row staying at your Seaside Retreat for 2 wonderful weeks. We took another couple with us for the first week and they stayed in the downstairs original master bedroom and we stayed in the new Penthouse Suite. I have to admit that we loved the original master so much last year that our plan was to move down the second week after they left. That is until we saw and experienced the new Penthouse Suite. There was no way we could leave it!We are so glad we saw the house last year before you did all of the renovations. When we heard of your plans, we really couldn’t imagine how you could improve on what was already such a wonderful retreat. You proved us wrong. The new Penthouse Suite is like a separate villa in itself. It’s not only very large but so well appointed and decorated and with the multiple decks. If it should turn windy or rain, there’s always somewhere to sit outside and be protected and still have ocean views. And the views are spectacular.I have to say, you really outdid yourselves on this one, although I understand that your main motive was to create this for yourselves.We have rented 5 different villas in our 7 trips and this will be only the first time we will rent the same villa for the 3rd time as we have already selected our 2009 dates. I think we found our home away from home. The are several reasons we keep coming back, as we mentioned in our report last year. The location, the views, the privacy, the amenities but equally important is the security. The house is essentially walled in with electronic gates on the driveway, such that you really do have a great sense of security staying there.Thank you so much for another wonderful vacation in your outstanding home. We’re already counting the days until we return.

First, let me just say, WOW! This is the fifth villa we have rented and is our favorite in every respect. The home itself, the amenities, the view both day and night, the location, the value, and especially the privacy; everything exceeded our expectations. I loved the fact that the house keeper comes only every third day. Daily is just too often and in other villas we usually ask her to take the week off or find ourselves having to schedule around her. The grill, and the pool speakers are a very nice touch. We enjoyed the villa so much that in a two week vacation, we stayed at the villa half the time enjoying the pool, music, drinks, snacks and the wonderful island weather. Sometimnes a picture doesn't always tell the story. In the case of this villa, it was everything as advertised and more. Thanks for a great vacation!

Hi Rick, I thought I left a comment before now. We stayed with you from June 11-16, 2006. My girls and I had a fabulous stay at your fabulous house. We cannot wait to come back again next year. The pool and views were outstanding. We loved spending time at Sunset Bar Grill watching the planes and meeting lots of new friends. We loved the hanging chair by the pool. The only complaint was there was only 1. See you next year.

We went to St Martin for our 25th wedding anniversary. We have traveled to the American Virgin Islands and the British Virgin Islands on prior trip. Our trip to St Martin was the absolutely the best vacation we have ever experienced. The house is outstanding. The views, privacy, pool could not be better. I have rented directly from owners in the past with mixed results – the care given to us by the owner, the property manager, maid, grounds keeper…… was outstanding.

This house is amazing. Great views, great ammenities, and the owners are top-notch people. My wife and I will definitely rent again next year. The house had everything we needed, from full air conditioning (which you won't find many places on the island) to a large, spacious, useful kitchen, to big bedrooms with kind-sized beds. Rick seems to always be improving the place, so the house you stay in will be even better than the house you are booking.

OUR STAY FROM 4/17 TO 5/1 2006 RICK, The renting process, housekeeping services, cleanliness, and accomandations were all excellent. All though minor,The BBQ grill is on its last legs but we used it quite a bit. My suggestion is you should probably get it replaced. We did our best to get to the place at 3. The girls took one car and got there at 2:50 to meet Karen. When girls got there two "mean" dogs Jo-Jo and Prince protecting place outside the gate. Girls didn't know what to do,but noticed, despite barking, tails were wagging. So got out and made friends. Paulette your housekeeper was across street and heard the commotion and came over. There was a mix up at check in but Paulette let the girls in and everything was O.K. What did we like? Just about everything. Location was perfect. Views, winds, pool, beds- you name it. Can't think of any place we have enjoyed more. Spent most of our days just at the pool, while kids went off to beach. My wife was shocked-I didn't turn on the T.V. once in the entire two weeks. I did listen to radio in the morning and they did have a very comical guy read the local news. Also it was tied into BBC so I could tell you all about the problems in Katmandu! The highlight of the stay for my wife was Jo Jo and Prince, the 2 dogs that hang around outside of your property. She fell in love with both of them. She bought them pet food, put ice cubes in their water. I don't think they ever had it so good. The routine was rather simple. I get up early at 5am, make coffee , Jo Jo would come to door for treats and we start a new day. I did stop JoJo from chasing cars. Pretty simple- Some one told us, probably you, the couple who owned him went back to France for awhile. Well thinking back to my trips to Montreal in the 60's I remember the stop signs said arret or stop in French. So when JoJo started chasing my car I yelled in my best French arret and guess what he stopped and never did it again. ces la vie! Deb really wanted to take him home with us and she had tears in her eyes when we left. All in all one of the best vacations we have ever had. OUR FAMILY HAD SUCH AN AWESOME TIME AT THE SEASIDE RETREAT. IT HAD EVERYTHING WE WANTED AND MORE. THE ROOMS WERE SO SPACIOUS AND THE VIEWS WERE SPECTACULAR! SOMETIMES IT WAS HARD TO LEAVE TO GO SIGHTSEEING BECAUSE JUST HANGING OUT BY THE POOL WAS SO ENJOYABLE. EVERYTHING WAS EASY TO USE BECAUSE OF ALL THE LABELING AND EXPLANATIONS THAT WERE PROVIDED. AND THE PLACE WAS VERY KID-FRIENDLY. OUR KIDS ENJOYED THE BASKETS OF STUFFED SEA CREATURES AND HAND CLACKERS. THE ADULTS ENJOYED THE COMPLIMENTARY BOTTLE OF CHAMPAGNE! WE ALSO LOVED BEING LOCATED SO CLOSE TO THE SUNSET BEACH BAR. IT WAS SO EXCITING WATCHING THE PLANES COME IN TO LAND. AND WE WERE ABLE TO WATCH THE PLANES TAKE OFF FROM THE VILLA. I HATED TO LEAVE,YOU HAVE A BEAUTIFUL PLACE AND WE TRULY ENJOYED OURSELVES.THE RENTING PROCESS WAS EASY AND HAD NO PROBLEMS, KAREN THE PROPERTY MANAGER WAS GREAT. RICK AND MARIE YOUR HOME WAS BEAUTIFUL.WE LOVED THE PRIVACY AND THE POOL. THE AMOUNT OF SPACE IN YOUR HOME WAS MUCH MORE THAN WE EXPECTED. THE RENTING PROCESS WAS MUCH EASIER THAN GOING THROUGH A RENTAL AGENT AND YOUR PROPERTY MANAGER, KAREN WHO MET US UPON ARRIVAL WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. THE HOUSE WAS SPOTLESSLY CLEAN WHEN WE GOT THERE AND PAULETTE, THE HOUSEKEEPER WAS VERY COURTEOUS AND WE HAD PLENTY OF TOWELS AND LINENS.THE KITCHEN HAD EVERYTHING NEEDED FOR A PEACEFUL AND ROMANTIC STAY. WE HOPE TO RETURN FOR 2 WEEKS NEXT YEAR AND BRING THE REST OF THE FAMILY.

This is definitly PARIDISE. Our stay at your home was warm, inviting and we would love to come back on a yearly basis. Next time it will be longer then 1 week. Thank you very much for everything. You made this a wonderful experience from the booking of the reservations to our final departure. The house is beautiful (compliments to the designer), the pool is cool, the sunrise/sunsets are breathtaking. Me and the Mrs. look foward to our return trip. Thanks again - The Vittis
