Great Location, Had a Fabulous Time!
Great Location, Had a Fabulous Time!
My boyfriend and I stayed at this property for a month and it was very hard to leave. We found it so hard to leave, that we are actually currently living on St Croix! This property had everything that we wanted and more. 1) Great Location - we walked to the neighborhood beach everyday down the street to snorkel and walk on the beach. There is also a trail connecting this beach to the next beach over - several great snorkeling spots and the beach was clean and not crowded. 2) Peace and Quite - the neighborhood is quiet, which is what we look for while we are on vacation. You can sit on the porch and relax and enjoy the sea view, breezes and look at a nearby historic sugar mill, windmill base. 3) Property had everything we needed - the kitchen is well stocked and has everything you will need to cook a meal if you prefer not to go out. There is no AC, which we thought would be tough to live without, but we quickly got used to having the windows open and enjoyed the breezes and fresh air. Great selection of TV channels. Use of the owners swimming pool. Owners have a really sweet dog that we loved on everyday. 4) Great location - several great restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive. Christiansted is about 15 minutes away and worth walking around. We dove with SCUBA while staying at this property, which is a great dive shop. 5) Knowledgeable, caring and friendly owners - The owners are just fabulous and we really appreciated their hospitality. Peter and Martha gauge your various interests and needs and react accordingly. Peter is an experienced Captain, so I highly recommend booking a day cruise on their sailboat the Lightheart, during your stay. We really enjoyed this memorable visit and now have 2 new great friends! Thanks Peter and Martha!

Owner response: We are so happy you enjoyed your stay. It was our pleasure.
As one of the very first visitors, the only thing more beautiful than the lodging, views and beaches are the two owners! As a general island neophyte and non-seaside dweller, not only were the accomodations amazing, but the knowledge, expertise and guidance provided to make best use of our time was invaluable. The views, breezes, and expansive beaches coupled with wonderful lodging made me wonder why I didn’t purchase a one-way ticket

About the owner: Martha and Peter are delighted to welcome you to their beautiful island retreat. Peter is originally from Miami, Florida, and Martha from Austin, Texas. They relocated to St. Croix after a year of cruising the Caribbean aboard their 40-foot sailboat Lightheart. At every island they asked each other: “Could you imagine us living here?” Only on St. Croix did the answer come back yes. Absolutely, enthusiastically yes! Peter had a stellar 26-year career as an attorney, practicing primarily in Sarasota, Florida. His greater love, however, was his sailboat racing career which took him all over the world gathering championships and training younger sailors. Peter has also been a commercial and test pilot, lifeguard on Miami Beach, firefighter, school teacher and personal life coach. He currently is thrilled to be taking charter clients for day trips and extended cruising trips on Lightheart, as well as teaching sailing through his association with the American Sailing Association. Martha practiced law in Austin for a few years, but the bulk of her career has been as a facilitator of personal growth and professional development experiences for both individuals and business clients. She has done much of her work in experiential “adventure learning” environments from sailboats to mountain tops; and she also loves delighting her business clients with extraordinarily effective business meetings delivered in the context of an island vacation. Martha offers personal life coaching and executive coaching island retreats, and also coaches via telephone and internet from her breezy tropical perch on a hill overlooking the Caribbean.
Why the Owner Chose East End:
We searched the entire island, but knew the instant we saw this property that it had what we wanted. The views and easy access to the sea were paramount, but the bones of a great home were present too. We developed - and continue to develop the property to reflect our values of beauty, privacy, peace, comfort, convenience, and harmony with nature. If that’s what you’d like as your base from which to explore all that St. Croix has to offer, we think you've just found your place too.
