About: Sir Francis Ogilvy, 14th Baronet of Inverquarity and his wife Dorothy.
With his family, Sir Francis lives in Winton house, and is particularly keen on anything musical, highland dancing and helping to promote East lothian as a tourist venue.
Why Pencaitland: Winton Cottage is situated on the Winton Estate, which was passed onto Sir Francis Ogilvy in 1992.
Historically, the owners of Winton Estate have played a critical role in developing East Lothian's most famous golf courses because their lands originally included Muirfield (site of the 2013 Open), Archerfield and Gullane.
The laird grew up in the property, and the cottage was completely renovated 5 years ago.
On the Winton estate, Winton House is considered a masterpiece of Scottish Renaissance architecture, and has been passed down through generations and contains some exceptional artwork, ornate plasterwork ceilings and unique history.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage: Sleeps 10 to 12 people in luxuriant comfort
The perfect base for a short break or tour of East Lothian's celebrated Links golf courses, from Muirfield, Gullane and Archerfield to name a few.
The perfect place for all varieties of celebrations including family holidays, friend's reunions group get together and corporate meetings
We can organize a variety of activities on the estate during your stay - from Clay pigeons shooting, highland games, archery, falconry, dog and duck herding and a rugby clinic to name a few!
