Raised Acadian cottage on 8 park-like acres with 550' of water frontage and 30+ live oaks. Enjoy nature's paradise in this newly renovated 100 year old home. See pelicans, egrets, rabbits, fox, deer, and an occasional alligator. Bring your boat or rent one up 'da bayou'. Fish or crab from the pier and or if you prefer, Kenney's Seafood ( 1mi.) has fabulous live and cooked seafood including crawfish. Enjoy water sports on the bayou or relax in the large swimming pool. Large back and front porches, as well as ample space to grill, boil and eat under the house. Four bedrooms/four baths, three large living areas, gameroom, wet bar, stainless appliances in kitchen, granite countertops, completely renovated. Three bedrooms have queen beds, one bedroom has a single bed and a double bed. New mattresses and bedding, and always clean. The Bayou Liberty area of Slidell is thirty minutes to the French Quarter on I-10.

About the owner: I'm born and raised in New Orleans. I currently work in New Orleans but live on the North Shore of New Orleans. My family (three children) grew up in this house until Katrina took it away. 8 years later, the kids are all in college, we live in another house but have just finished bringing this one back. We can't forget the wonderful memories, the great times or the tremendous ambiance of this place. So we use it when we can. But you can use it when we can't!! Don't miss out on the Bayou Moon from the rear porch. It is truly special..
Why the Owner Chose Slidell:
We bought it because it was on the navigable bayou (5 mins to Lake Pontchartrain by boat), we could water ski, boat, fish, crab or just enjoy the awesome wildlife and nature that the bayou affords. We bought it because of the 8 acres (which we cleared and now manicure), and the 30 plus oak trees with Spanish moss, some of which are over 200 years old. We've played many football, soccer, and baseball games in the large fields. Drive a golf ball or fly a kite! We named it Bayou Moon, because for all its splendor, at the end of the day when you sit on the back porch and look up - you see this awesome moon reflecting on the bayou! This area is a historic Creole settlement that dates back into the 1700's. So after we bought it, we got to know our wonderful neighbors, many of whom are ancestors of the original settlers. FYI before we could rebuild this house after Katrina, it needed to be raised and we just completed this 'raise and renovate' six months ago.
