Casale Girafalco exceeded our expectations! A group of 7 women friends, we recently rented the villa to celebrate a milestone birthday for two of the women. The owner is on the premises and was very welcoming and informative. One evening we hired her to cook for us (it was wonderful!), and another evening she organized a chef to come from Florence. He provided a cooking demonstration and utlimately served us an exquisite meal! It was a definite highlight of the trip. We hired Andrea to drive us to local wineries and he was a delightful and very patient driver/guide. The villa is beautiful - and decorated with family antiques and artwork. Unfortunately for us, the weather was very cool while we were there, but we took full advantage of the enormous fireplace in one of the sitting areas! The pool is lovely and is surrounded by rose bushes and overlooks a scenic Tuscan valley. We were able to walk into Cortona every morning for exercise & if the weather had been warmer, we would have walked to the restaurants in the evening. We would highly recommend it.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Owner info

About the owner: I rented many apartments and a villa in Italy before deciding to buy my own, so I understand what a renter would like to have...convenience, comfort and a villa that is well furnished like your own home. I strive to make our guests as comfortable as possible, and I know you will love our area.
Why the Owner Chose Cortona:
I visited Cortona many times before buying our villa there. The people are wonderful, the town as beautiful as the photos, and the food, ahhh, it doesn't get any better. The town is just the right size, and when you want something more, Florence is one hour by train, Rome only two hours.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
While staying at our villa, you will have a fully planted and maintained organic vegetable garden full of the seasons delights. We have air conditioning, high speed internet and a voice over ip telephone making calls to the USA and Canada free of charge.
Our staff will look out for you and gently care for you and allow you to practice your Italian.
