Casa Tranquila is a half block from the beach that stretches for 15 miles... great for meandering, digging in your toes, and sunset watching. Many restaurants are within walking distance of the house... in fact, the whole town is within walking distance. When you are ready to visit downtown Puerto Vallarta we are only two blocks from the bus stop or you can rent one of our vehicles to explore on your own.
We offer what is called locally a "bungalow" with 1 bedroom, private bathroom and full kitchen that can be rented by the day or by the month. The bedroom features a double bed and ceiling fans, there is a foldout sofa bed in the livingroom, and your own patio with outdoor table for fresh air dining. The kitchen is fully equipped and we include a starter package of our own locally grown and roasted coffee from Café Superior. Lush tropical gardens surrounding the pool and patios encourage you to relax and enjoy paradise here at Casa Tranquila.
We offer room service from our very own Gringo's Books and Coffee Shop to your patio or poolside. Enjoy a light breakfast, lunch, or snack whenever you like... a rich latte or a refreshing frozen mocha might be just what you need and we deliver. You can browse our bookshelves to your heart's content. We have a large selection to choose from in used books and new books by local authors.
We will be happy to pick you up at the airport with a stop at the major grocery store and the bank on your way to Bucerias. If you like, we can stock your kitchen prior to your arrival.
We can provide you with tours of the surrounding mountains, beaches, and towns as well as kayaking in the lagoon and bird watching. In the winter (November to March), whales come to play and give birth just off shore. We have conscientious, ecologically-concerned guides, in whatever size boat you prefer, to show you our abundant marine life. Solo circumnavigator Pat Henry, author of "By the Grace of the Sea: A Woman's Solo Odyssey Around the World," offers one- and three-day sailing courses on the Southern Cross.
Joann is available for eclectic and intuitive healing massage in her studio here at Casa Tranquila. We can also arrange for a manicure, pedicure, rejuvenating facial, hair cut and color, and hair braiding at your convenience right here on your patio.
Some pets are welcome or you can use ours.

We spent two weeks in the charming Suzie Wong apartment. We had stayed in owners other accomodations previously and also during this vacation. The Casa Tranquila and surrounding area provided the most relaxing vacation we had ever had in decades. The courtyard has a familial atmosphere. Guests gather around in the evening or afternoon and actually get to know one another. It is safe and clean. COZY is the term . And i mean surprising small yet exactly enough. We loved going to the fish market or the corner shop and getting provisions for our own meals. There is an excellent meat store in town also. The food vendors in the area provide health delicous food. The dining establishments are almost five star and it surprised us that fine restaurants were higher priced than in Puerto Vallarta itself. The beach is a short walk. The surf is a tad strong for swimming most of the time. The pool at Casa Tranquila is in the shade in the late afternoon. Mid morning and early afternoon swims were refreshing. ( I like that the water in the pool was a little cooler) . Patricia and Joanne and all the guests were fantastic. We did not get the dates this year we needed, so in the future we will hop on making reservations much earlier. No hustle .. no bustle.. Just pleasant living. The only reason I did not giver it top rating is that I think a very small number of persons might desire more ostentation.. rather than genuine charm. THIS is genuine charm!

My two sisters and I wanted a get-away and found Patricia and Joanne's casa a lovely home away from home for our vacation. They introduced us to local options for sight-seeing and even showed us some sights in PV on a trip to town. Great to have locals who love where they live to host you. Lovely rooms, nice pool and great location. Thanks!

We spent two months, over Christmas, at this Casa. It's garden setting is beautiful and Patricia & Joann are wonderful hosts, who look after you like one of the family. The bungalows are small , clean, well appointed and comfortable.The location in Bucerias is central, making beach, market and town easily accessible..The bungalows are a perfect blend of privacy and socializing. We enjoyed the coffee in the morning. We met so many great people who gave us lots of ideas about things to do and places to go. Having hosts that were members of the community was a great bonus!
