Location: East Wakefield, Lakes Region, New Hampshire, USA (Portland 1 hr, Manchester Airport 1.5 hours, Boston 2 hours)
Accommodations: Log Home, 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 1 Bath (Sleeps 6)
Enjoy a restful vacation at Belleau Lake. Located right on the water with 325 feet of shoreline, it is the perfect place to sit on the porch or down at the beach with a warm cup of coffee just listening to the wildlife. It will feel at times as though you have the whole lake to yourself. The home is situated in a quiet cove nestled in by birch trees and huge pine trees. Because of the unique manner in which the house is located, you probably will not be able to see or hear the neighbors.
The house is a three-story, log home. From June through October, the top two floors are rented out. The owners stay on the bottom floor and make a promise not to be obtrusive in any way. The top two floors can accommodate up to six people, and maybe even a seventh one in the loft if they are young enough or small enough to fit in the child's bed. From November through May, all three floors are rented.
A paddleboat and a kayak are available, and if you bring your own boat it could be docked at the beach. Belleau Lake is an excellent lake for fishing. The Province Lake Golf Course is five minutes away. There are many wonderful hiking trails within walking distance of the property.
