This is our family of 6 plus our dog a few years ago. We love Hatteras and enjoy swimming and walking on the beach. There is a shipwreck (from 1880's) that is still visible in the surf about 400 yards south from our beach location - an easy walk. Hatteras has post office, library, grocery and hardward store within a mile. Fall is a great time to visit since prices are lower and weather is still great plus the water is warm!
