Starkville cabin description
Nestled in the tall, slender plantation pines and steps away from a scenic, serene lake, Amity Cabin invites you to enjoy time away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Situated on a 400 acre plantation pine farm, Amity's guests enjoy the beauty of the land, the bounty of a private 35 acre well-stocked lake, and the peace and quiet of a farm. Whether attending a near-by MSU ballgame, golfing at Old Waverly, pilgrimaging in Columbus or Aberdeen or just wanting to get away, Amity Cabin offers a “natural” touch to your plans and will sleep 6-8 family and friends.
A completely renovated sharecropper's cabin, Amity blends of modern comfort and cabin life. Bring your morning coffee or evening refreshment onto the wide front porch, settle into one of the comfy rockers and relax into tranquility of Amity’s natural surroundings. Steps away from Amity, the lake may call you to fish for crappie, bass and bream. Freeze your catch and take it home – or cook it up for your next meal.
Step inside Amity. The front door opens into the living and dining areas with a 40' flat screen TV complete with DVD player for your favorite movie. The kitchen features a new gas stove, plenty of counter space for family meal preparation, pots, pans, dishes, eating cooking utensils – even a fresh roll of paper towels. Don’t want to cook? We have a yummy catering service for all or some of your meals.
End your day in one of Amity’s two bedrooms. Select the king bed in one bedroom or a bunk or the queen bed in the second bedroom. We supply all of the linens and a basket of blankets for cooler evenings. The living room sofa opens into an extra bed for two more guests. The new bath has a tub/shower combo and a new vanity. Don’t worry about bringing your own towel: Amity has plenty.

If you are looking for peace and quiet this is a great little cabin. View of the lake at sunset and sun rise is awesome. Mr Bruce & Mrs Elizabeth are great hosts. Dulcy is always happy to help with anything you might need. This was a great recharge.

Year Purchased: 2006
About: A missionary kid turned physician met a native Mississippian on the internet -- and the rest is history. When we married, we consolidated households and moved to the country. Anam Cara, our farm, (Celtic for 'soul friend') has been our home since 2006 and we enjoy the expansive 400+ acres, the natural beauty of the Lake (Amity is situated across the lake from our home), and the glorious trees that surround us. Amity was a broken-down cabin when we purchased Anam Cara. Recently we decided to renovate it to share the serenity and beauty with others.
Mississippi is our home! When we first glimpsed Anam Cara, there was no question that this is where we wanted to live. Amity Cabin enjoys all of the beauty and tranquility of Anam Cara, and now we can share both with new friends.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
To borrow a phrase, Amity Cabin is a little piece of heaven for those who enjoy the tranquility and beauty of country life. Whether rocking on the front porch or enjoying the comforts of the cabin itself, friends will find a place where they can relax and just be themselves.
