My husband and I stayed in the apartment for 9 nights. We are seniors, but managed the 4 flights of stairs without problem. The location of the apartment was perfect - lovely neighborhood, ideal boulangerie around the corner, easy walking to everything. The owners were very thoughtful - we were happy listening to their CD of Eric Satie; I read one of the novels left there; tons of information about the city; appreciated the washing machine and the telephone with free calls to the U.S. and the internet service. We would definitely return and would recommend it to friends.

My young daughter and I stayed at this beautiful apartment for eight days during the New Year period. It was truly a home away from home - it had everything we could have wished for: a stone's throw from the Hotel d'Ville (where we went ice-skating at night); a dreamy, romantic outlook with the Notre Dame bells chiming as a sound track; a bright interior; quiet; close to the fashionable Le Marais, walking distance to the Left Bank and the Louvre ... as i write this I wish i was there. It really featured as a big part of our holiday. The manager was very helpful when we arrived, and the owners left us a bottle of wine as a warm greeting gesture. The cosy feel of the place, with little useful things left around such as sticky tape, sewing kit and guidebooks, really made us feel like we belonged - you can't ask for more than that when you're on the other side of the world.

I have been to Paris 27 times in the past ten years, but my dream was to stay for a month and rent an apartment. I couldn't have made a better choice. The location is superb and safe for a woman alone. The apartment is clean, well maintained, and looks exactly as pictured. Alix has anticipated everything a traveler might need...and all this info is in a book. Additionally, things like tape, scissors, sewing kit are here. I especially appreciated the rolling shopping bag to do grocery shopping (like a native). All this and free phone calls and internet! I would return to this little gem in a heartbeat.

My husband and I returned in August to this apartment for the second year in a row, and were so happy to open the door and find our Paris pied-à-terre in great shape and ready to enjoy. We love this apartment because it has everything we need for a week in Paris, it is modern, bright, airy and well maintained, and is well situated near the Seine and near three Metro stations. Thierry, who manages the property, could not be more accommodating and helpful. We incorporate the fourth floor walk-up into our daily exercise regimen.

I recently stayed in this wonderful little studio apartment for the second year in a row. It is in a perfect location, just a 3 minute walk to the Seine, and the Ile St. Louis one of my favorite places in Paris. It has everything you need to be comfortable and enjoy your time in Paris. It has two large sets of windows that allow light to fill the apartment. I even left them wide open at night so I could hear the sounds of Paris. The futon sofa bed has me shopping around for one of my own; I slept so well on it. Don’t worry that you have to walk up a few floors to the apartment; it’s good exercise and very French. They think nothing of climbing stairs. Alix was wonderful and very attentive. I’m planning on renting the apartment again next summer, and hopefully for longer than just a week.

Great stay in Paris

My wife and I were looking for a truly Parisian experience for our first ever visit to Paris and both your studio apartment and its location in the Marais made for a magicial time. We were virtually a stone's throw from Notre Dame, we loved listening to the bells each morning, we did not lack for finding a good restaurant just around any corner on our block and local transportation, including the batobus and bus #69 was a convenient short distance away. I should also mention that the farmer's market was also great on Saturdays. The apartment was small yet well appointed and had all the conveniences of being at home. What was especially nice was the clothes washer, the fresh flowers in our window boxes, free wifi, cable TV, the expresso maker and free phone calls to the States. Your kitchen was well equipped and allowed us to prepare some of our dinner meals within the unit. Staying in your unit exceeded all of our expectations and we were especially appreciative of all your effort to make our stay in Paris as enjoyable as we experienced. There is absolutely no way we could have found a more ideal place to stay in Paris. We would definitely return! Thank you so much.

Hello! We are nearing the end of our visit to Paris and our stay at your apartment. In fact, we are waiting the arrival of Kathy and Doug from London and will be seeing them later this afternoon. Alix, we have had an amazing trip. Your apartment has been a huge contribution to our Paris experience. We have loved everything and I'm really getting sad to leave. This is a lively corner of the world! We've seen a movie filmed; they've re-paved the road; there's been a high security event at Memorial de La Shoa; we've had hot weather and cool rain! I'm so used to hearing the buses outside and the bells chiming. I will miss the neighborhood so much. As you said, this has been a trip of a lifetime. We are treasuring our last few days. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay In this delightful studio! We found it's location to be perfect for our time in Paris. We loved the pretty decorating and just everything about it showed attention to detail and how much the owners wanted us to have a wonderful time while on vacation. I cannot say enough about the bed, we found that after a busy day of beautiful Paris the bed was the perfect place to mend our tired backs and feet. We had fun cooking in the kitchen and it was so easy to become comfortable with our neighborhood. We found that the staircase is needed to work off the baguette chocolat viennoise that we both enjoy way too much! If you are looking for the perfect place to stay while in Paris this is it!

A Grreat Location

We loved the location. It's a 10 minute walk to Notre Dame and 2 minutes to the river. The proximity to rue de Rivoli made it convenient for shopping. This wonderfully quiet neighborhood, so close to such storied sights almost made me feel like a local. The apartment is well appointed, the kitchen and bathroom organized and quiet adequate. We even enjoyed the four story climb up the winding staircase and would collapse in a giggling heap at the door. Alix was responsive when we had an issue (so minor that I can't remember what it was now) and Thierry was gracious and showed us the ropes. I will recommend your apartment Alix, and hope to rent it again - may that be soon! .

I loved my Paris home. It was so easy to explore Paris. I walked everywhere and got an excellent lay of the land. The area around the apartment has all the services you need and you are only steps away from the Seine. Loved hearing the church bells. Apartment is very comfortable and easily connected to metro which is also easy to use for arrivals and departures.

This studio apartment was perfect for our one and a half week stay in Paris. It's located on a quiet street just a few blocks from the Seine and ile St. Louis in one direction and, in another, the trendy shops and restaurants in the Marais along the Vieille du Temple. Easy walk to the Metro. The apartment itself was comfortable and well equipped. Nice views from the front windows as well. Owners were a joy to deal with. I could go on and on but you can't go wrong with this very nice apartment.

We found this apartment and its location to be ideal for a recently-married couple. We loved the proximity to EVERYTHING. If we wished to be "tourists", the short walk to the Isles was magical. If we wished to be "locals", the nearby eateries and shopping were equally convenient. There are many wonderful secrets to be discovered right in the neighborhood, and then to go farther afield, Metro stations were easily accessible. The apartment is well-appointed and the location carries the perfect balance of quiet nights and the calming sounds of a city side street during the day.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Stecker's apartment for 8 nights while I was in Paris. I absolutely loved everything about it. It is in the perfect location and only a short walk to the Seine, the Metro and the batobus, and it is in close proximity to many nice restaurants. Most importantly for me, as a single traveler, was safety and security. I came back to the apartment many nights at 11pm and always felt perfectly safe. During the months prior to my trip, Alix was very attentive. I felt very comfortable in knowing I had made a good choice for where I would stay while in Paris. I am planning a trip back next year and will work my vacation schedule around the availability of this wonderful little apartment.

Excellent Paris Apartment

I must say that both my husband and I are very impressed by this lovely apartment. It is just right for people like us...mature couple who like being at the centre of things and who appreciate a comfortable bed in a safe place. The apartment is extremely favorably located with the three METRO stops close at hand. We purchased a weekly pass and used it very frequently. And each day it was a pleasure to know that we could return to our pied-a-terre and relax, eat in if we felt like it, and have a good sleep in a comfortable bed. We noticed the high quality of all the accoutrements, especially the longed-stemmed wine glasses, the towels and appliances. We did not use the washing machine, but I'm sure it would have been very good. I should also note that the apartment was spotlessly clean and very bright. There was a cross breeze that made it very pleasant on the hotter days. We incorporated the four flights of stairs into our exercise regimen!! The visit got off to a great start with Thierry waiting on the curb for us when we arrived in the taxi. He is an absolute gentleman and we appreciated his reassuring presence. We hope we will be able to return and stay in the apartment again. Thank you very much for making this great spot available to us!!

I was a student in Paris in 1992 and knew it was time to get back to see the city I had fallen in love with. I was also looking forward to show my wife the sights and sounds of this amazing city and share with her the life of a Parisian. The Stecker's and their beautiful apartment made this happen. It felt like going home to me. The apartment was a warm and inviting place and once we entered we knew we were home. We could not have asked for a better location to shops, sights, the occasional pastry and the Metro. Our Christmas Holiday in Paris, in our lovely studio apartment, will be one we will remember forever. From the beginning Alix Stecker was looking to help and make our stay the best it possibly could be and she succeeded. We will make sure that the next time we head to Paris we will be looking to stay at our special studio apartment on the Rue Pont Louis Philippe.

We just spent a week at the Stecker's place in Le Marais, and it was just perfect. It has all the amenities tucked in place, and was very cozy for my wife and me during what was a cold week with snow and freezing temp's. Marais is a great area itself, but also the studio is on the south end near the Seine and iles. There are certainly many Paris sights that are still on our list to see on a future trip, and this is a terrific place from which to stage our visit. I had to work for a day while there, and the wireless made it possible. The Steckers are very nice, responsive and truly want their Paris visitors to have a good experience. All-in-all a great find.

We love Paris in the Springtime, but we love it better in the Fall when the leaves are turning colors along the Seine! The Stekler's pretty studio apartment is in the perfect location for sightseeing and soaking up the sights and sounds of the Marais. Theirry, the apartment manager, met us and oriented us to the apartment and the environs which was very helpful. We enjoyed meeting and entertaining our friends at the studio as well as having a place to relax and enjoy light dining. We would love to return and would recommend it to all. The apartment owned by the Steckers is simply in the perfect location. The Marais is wonderful for shopping and many sights: Notre Dame, Hotel De Ville, Seine river and many others are all within walking distance. It is also close to two metro stations. (St Paul & Hotel De Ville) I without a doubt will stay again when I return to Paris. Definitely recomended!

The Steckers own a wonderful studio apartment in the Marais, they are fantastic hosts and I will not hesitate to stay there again the next time I am in Paris. The location in the Marais is an atmospheric, convenient and delightful part of Paris. There are shops, markets, museums, restaurants, sights, Metro and bus stations -- all close by. The Seine is a few blocks away. Exploring and getting to know the neighborhood was one of the best parts of my trip. The Marais is a unique neighborhood in Paris. The studio is charming, with its fold-out queen bed, a perfect size for a couple or someone traveling by themselves. Hearing the bells of the church nearby through the courtyard behind the building is a wonderful experience. The kitchen is nicely equipped, and for breakfasts and the (admittedly rare) times I ate a lunch or dinner at the apartment, it works very well. Thierry who manages the apartment in Paris is caring and attentive and knowledgeable -- my thanks to him, his kind partner, and to the woman who cleaned the apartment so magnificently while I was there. Be prepared for stairs as you climb up to the apartment, but, hey, it is good for those glutes after all the baguettes and amazing French food you will eat on your trip, yes? I miss the studio, which means it became a home for me while I was in Paris. Alix, Stephen, Thierry and everyone will help you feel at home. Be prepared for a marvelous stay. We had a fabulous time in Paris. The apartment was in the best location we have ever stayed. You can walk to everything, and we did. Having the sunny retreat made the trip so much more relaxing and enjoyable. The well equiped kitchen was so nice for our breakfasts, and snacks. We finally could shop at the markets and have a place to bring goodies back to, the big wine glasses were nice too.

Our visit to Paris was fantastic and living at 21 Rue du Pont Louis-Phillip definietly added to our positive experience. We enjoyed eating fresh croissants from the bakery downstairs and sitting by the window in the morning to watch the city wake up. We explored much of Paris by foot and found this location to be an ideal starting point. We found new places to eat every day as there is no lack of restaurants in the Marais. My teenage daughter and I spent a wonderful week in this apartment and are sad to have had to leave! The location is perfect - perhaps the best in Paris. We walked to the Marais, the Ile St. Louis, Notre Dame, and many other places. This is a real Parisian neighborhood with very few tourists so you really get a feel for what it would be like to live there. Many great restaurants, boulangeries, and ice cream shops are but an easy walk from this apartment. We will definitely stay here next time we vixit Paris!

I just spent a month (March/April 2007) in this charming apartment and did not want to leave! It offers excellent value for money in a perfect location. The apartment was well-maintained, quiet and exceptionally equipped (the espresso machine was a great bonus!). Walking distance to the wonderful Marais on one side and a block from the delightful Ile St Louis on the other - perfect! Several handy metro stations are also close by. Great kitchen for a studio, separated out from the main living room. The bathroom is small but perfectly clean and functional. It is a rare treat to have so much light, sun and air in a small apartment. Both the landlord and caretaker were exceptionally polite and helpful. Highly recommended.

Paul and I stayed in this delightful studio in September 2006. The location is superb,maybe 2/3 of a block from the Seine and a couple of blocks from 2 Metro stops.It is very clean, the appliances are new and the bed is very comfortable. The galley kitchen proved perfect for our evening meals. The owner is very accommodating and easy to reach. We always hope to return to Paris and we would gladly stay here again. Thank you, Alix!
