There's plenty to do every season of the year. After trying skibeech, you can try Sugar Mt. Check out avery weather (dot com) for good weather forecasts or check out the webcam and skibeech (dot com). "Come stay a spell" and enjoy the beauty of the NC mountains- you're very close to Grandfather Mt., Elk River Falls/many other falls, Valley Crucis, Boone, W.Jefferson, etc. Or, if you prefer, just come to relax and enjoy the quiet of Beech Mountain and read, go hiking, or hang out at Fred's General Mercantile and enjoy all the extras they provide: fishing licenses, clothing/hiking deals, etc.

We provide cotton and/or flannel sheets for cool spring/fall and winter nights, and plenty of afghans if you're cold natured. There are 2 decks and plenty of privacy; at night, you can see beautiful sunsets and stars galore. At dusk, you can often see deer in the woods that adjoin the property.

There is everything you'll need to have a good time so do not bring a thing except your clothes, books (some local books are available/calendar of events/local newspapers/"Summer/Winter Times), and food. We have Fred's Mercantile at the top of the mountain where you can get anything you would need; their motto is: "If we don't have it, you don't need it!"- and they are right. Gourmet coffee, a great beer and wine selection, baked goods, a great deli, most any kind of grocery item you'd need, winter/summer apparel, gloves, hats, boots, shoes/climbing apparel, etc.

There is a large washer and dryer so you can limit the number of clothing changes you would want to bring.

We have wonderful restaurants that are very reasonably priced (Jackaloupe's View, Zuzda's Tapas Restaurant, Banner Elk Cafe and the adjoing "The Lodge", the Corner Palate, Stonewalls, Vassarelly's, Louisiana Purchase, The Bayou, Dunn's Deli, and Sorrento's just to name a few). What is best is our service and price. We want you to have fun and not be gouged by high rental prices. If you'll come stay with us, you will ask for a reservation for next year after your stay here!
