Anne and Jim’s beach home was just marvelous! They are the nicest couple and their home is very well maintained which made our family feel right at home. We were blessed to travel with both my parents and my husband’s again this year (who were celebrating their 39th and 50th wedding anniversaries)! Our kids, ages 2 & 4, had the best time having both sets of grandparents along for their beach vacation. The one-story home was just perfect for all of us, along with the very short walk to the beach! We all had more than enough room and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The most memorable part of our beach vacation was waking up by 6A, time enough to pack a cooler & brew some coffee to take along to the beach. There is something to be said for coffee on the beach at that hour. The kids both brought their bikes and would ride the short little distance which was a big deal for them. Then, we were in the sand by 630A to witness the most breathtaking sunrises, ever! They were priceless and could not get enough of them (as we did that every morning as a family). Our 4 year old even said, “Mom, I can see God in that sunrise” and that we did. We certainly enjoyed the brilliant conversations with the locals taking their morning strolls for the day & it was the perfect setting to let the kids play. We visited all of our favorite eateries such as Boathouse, Sea Shack, The Old Oyster Factory, Black Marlin’s and Roastfish & Cornbread (we actually found Chef David’s recipe online for his scrumptious cornbread…which tastes like the best dessert in town)! In the afternoon, we could relax in the mostly shaded pool, which was more than perfect for all of us! My husband and I stayed here along with his parents and our 15 month old and this house was absolutely perfect! The best part is that it was child friendly and I didn't have to do lots of baby-proofing! I love all of the decorations...you can tell they were handpicked and unique. The kitchen has everything you would ever need for the beach...blender, large pot for beaufort stew, baking pans, etc. My husband even fell in love with the infrared grill that is there. The pool water was just a little cool for our little one, but it did entertain us during his naptime. They even have a wagon to haul the little one to the beach with all of the stuff, even though the beach is a very short walk. The property managers were great when the A/C went out and had it fixed within a couple of hours too. I don't have anything bad to say about the house or the location...absolutely perfect!

This was our second trip to Hilton Head and first stay here at Serenity by the Sea. We absolutely loved it. The home is very clean and well maintained. The owner called to make sure we had everything we needed for our week here in Hilton Head. We would highly recommend this property. We rented bikes and enjoyed the bike trails on the island. There is a great little ice cream shop at Coligny Square. The owners also recommended the Sea Shack and it was excellent. We also visited a favorite from last year, Skull Creek Boathouse. We are sad to be leaving and look forward to another trip here in the near future!

We had a great vacation at the Brolleys'. The house was lovely, and location perfect. The house is even nicer than it looks online. The kitchen was great; I was inspired to bake homemade peach pie, and to buy utensils that matched theirs! We were nervous about pool access with small kids but the door locks were really secure and reassuring. Our kids (3, 6, and 9) all LOVED the pool and we were in it every day, often for HOURS. The beach is a fabulous two-block walk. Biking was great. We saw 'gators and caught a baby shark and overall couldn't be more pleased with our vacation choice.

This was our second stay at 6 Jacana Drive in HH. If possible the home was even more beautiful than the first with a new kitchen. Serene is an absolute great description of Anne and Jims home and location on the island. Everything and more is there at your disposal and there home is beautiful. They go above and beyond to make your stay as nice as can be. You never want to leave. Our two daughters ,husbands and two grandchildren join us. We celebrated our granddaughters first birthday while vacationing. What a great place to make memories. For the second time members of our family went on a shark fishing trip,absolutely had a grand time. Beach is close and quiet. Thanks again Anne and Jim

Just got back from HHI and our first stay at 9 Jacana. What an amazing experience, it was everything we hoped for and more. The convenience of everything provided by the owners was great. We had five children, under the age of 6, and it was so nice to stay at a child friendly home. The location was perfect, close enough to Coligny shopsto walk to, did it with 3 of the kids and it was no problem, but far enough away that you don't have to deal with the crowds. The beach was a walk up the street, close enough to run back to the house for lunch or to get something that may have been forgotten. The pool in the backyard kept the kids entertained for hours. I would definitely recommend this rental property and am looking forward to planning my next vacation at Serenity by the Sea.

We stayed at Serenity by the Sea in August this year and it was fantastic! Very quiet neighborhood, great outdoor space, easy access to the beach, close to everything! We just returned yesterday and we have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place. They thought of everything in this house! Anything that we happened to forget, they would have! It was amazing. The house is beautiful, clean, well kept. The pool was fantastic. We chose to have it heated and it felt like a bath tub!! It was wonderful for our young kids because they didn't like the cold water. We will definitely be going back to this house next year!!!

What a wonderful stay! The location to the beach was just the perfect distance to easily walk each day with 2 young children (5 and 2) even with arms full of beach toys and towels. The house was beautifully decorated and we felt instantly relaxed and welcome as soon as we walked in. It was awesome to have our very own private pool which was much larger than ones we saw in homes even twice the size of this one. Our family has many wonderful memories of our visit to Hilton Head this year and we are so glad that we chose this house.

Location, Location, Location!!! This house is in close proximity to the beach as well as Coligny. We have two small children so being close to the beach is important with all of the gear we had to haul. We loved the Ice Cream Cone for a snack, Coligny Bakery for breakast which is ten short blocks from the house. The house itself has all of the amenities including an updated kitchen. The private pool was terrific as well. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Dear Anne and Jim, Thank you so much for letting us stay at your beautiful home on Hilton Head Island. It was our first family vacation and it was perfect. Anne and Jim, We certainly enjoyed staying at your Serenity by the Sea. The house is lovely and well maintained; sophisticated and yet very comfortable. The separation of the bedrooms from the other living areas was a real plus for us. Its close proximity to the pool and the two doors accessing the pool made it easy to drift between the pool and both living areas. We walked the beach every day and cut over to Coligny Plaza for our daily smoothie before the walk back on the bike path. The one mistake we made was staying at the Coligny Plaza past dark one evening when we walked there for dinner. Walking back to the house without benefit of street lights was an experience. Your email administration of the rental arrangements was prompt and excellent. We particularly appreciated the quick refund of our security deposit. We had a wonderful first visit to HHI! We brought our two children ages 8 & 6 and were joined by my husband's sister and her family with two children ages 10 & 8. Serenity by the Sea was the perfect vacation home for our two families! The kids LOVED the pool, and we all appreciated having the beach within walking distance, making packing and going home for lunch a breeze! We also took Anne's advise and did a boat tour with Commander Zodiac. It was surely the highlight of our week. The zodiac boats only fit up to 6 people, so our family of four (we reserved two boats) got a private boat tour to see the dolphin's up close. We were not disappointed! We saw so many dolphins and our captain was the best...she even gave the kids a turn at steering and doing some dougnut's in the water! We had a blast and hope to return to HHI again!

First visit to "Serenity by the Sea", but not to Hilton head. Home is more beautiful than pictures online. Owner goes above and beyond to have all the ammenities you need. Pool a delight,the beach very private and only a short walk. Absolutely loved everything about it. Not a single negative !!!!

We loved our first visit to Hilton Head! The beach was close and an easy walk. Not crowded at all! Definately recommend renting bikes for the week, just don't forget to take a path map with you. Lights for the bike also a good idea for at night. The pool was splendid. We had a wonderful time and the house was very warm and inviting.

We LOVED our week at Serenity by the Sea! The house is beautiful and much bigger than we imagined. The entry way and window overlooking the pool is a perfect welcome to the house. The house was great for our two little ones (1 & 4), all on one level and lots of room to spread out. I was a very uncomfortable 6 months pregnant during our stay and nothing was more relaxing or soothing than the master king sized bed. It was like sleeping on a cloud! The pool was very inviting and relaxing too. And we can't stop raving about how gorgeous the beach was (and so close to the house!), we could have stayed there for hours. Staying at Serenity by the Sea definitely made our first trip to Hilton Head Island amazing!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week, with our daughter and two grandsons. The privacy for us was exceptional, and being able to share that fun with our daughter, Traci, and Sam and Jake made it special. What a lovely home - perfect location! The kids loved the pool at the end of a long beach day. Wonderful central location, yet a very private homey feel. We loved riding bikes on the pristine and natural beach and to Coligny Plaza for ice cream. We will be back!

My family had a wonderful week at this house. The location is absolutely perfect! You are just a 3 minute walk to the beach and when you tire of the beach, you can just hop in the pool in the backyard. We've been to Hilton Head a couple of times now, and after staying at 9 Jacana Rd., we couldn't imagine staying anywhere else. The owners are extremely generous with their house. It felt like being at home. It was just so relaxing!

We loved our week at 9 Jacana St. The pictures on the website don't do the inside of the house justice. It was spacious with a wing of 3 bedrooms and 2 lovely bathrooms and a wing comprised of an office area, a living/t.v. area, a dining room, and a kitchen/dinette area. All of this is connected by a beautiful entrance way that looks right out onto the pool area. The best part of this location was the privacy and quiet. If you've ever stayed in another area of Hilton Head, staying at 9 Jacana St. is nothing like that, and I mean that in the best possible way! Bikepaths and the beach are close by. The owners do a lovely job of leaving ammenities for the renters. This is a home we would definitely like to rent again!! If you're looking for relaxing, this is the place to be!

This house makes you feel relaxed from the minute you walk in the door. Large windows allow the sun in and the view out back around the pool is beautiful. We love the beach but when the sun and sand got to be too much the pool was a welcome retreat! The house is great, we loved the week we spent there.

We absolutely loved this house....it was very comfortable, clean, with wonderful ammenities everything from the soft linens, tile throughout, interesting art work on the walls to the well equipped kitchen. Just returned from a great stay at 9 Jacana. Everything about this vacation home was wonderful: the homes appointments, the pool, the proximity to the beach, bike trail, and shopping, and its central location on the island. The home is well appointed; the owners have thought of everything you might need. The bed in the master bedroom was VERY comfortable! The linens were very nice. Did I mention the pool? This was my favorite...just steps out the door. Large window walls in the living room and entryway make the glistening water part of the homes decor. :)

there is something special about this place i just spent a week in. a stunning entrance, FABULOUS pool and 3 large bedrooms. So convenient to the beach (a block!) and then literally attached to the biking and running trails. the decor of the house is extremely inviting and relaxing, and was VERY well furnished above and beyond our expectations. I hope to come back next year since it was literally this house that made my vacation a vacation!

This house is a true oasis and it has everything you need for a nice relaxing vacation for family and friends. Perfect location- just a block from the beach! We loved the updated bathrooms and the large living area is great for board game lovers. There are ceiling fans in every room which is great for those "sunburnt" evenings! We are already planning for next year!

Our family just returned from our second trip to Hilton Head. We had a wonderful trip! This house is very spacious and clean. The private pool was a definite highlight for us. The location is great as it is a short walk down the street to a clean, uncrowded beach and a short walk/bike ride to Coligny Plaza. The house had everything we needed for a relaxing week in Hilton Head!

We had a wonderful time here in August 2006. The house was perfect for us - a family of 6 with kids aged 12, 11, 9 and 5. The pool was great and it was only a short walk to a great beach that was not crowded at all. This was our first visit to Hilton Head but will not be our last. We'll be back!

Our grandchildren enjoyed many hours in the pool after returning from several hours on the beach! The location is so convenient to the beach and an easy walk to Coligny for pastries, groceries, a paper, shopping, ice cream, etc. Enjoyed getting to meet an islander across the street - don't usually get to meet many locals.

My family and I just spent a week at at your home and had a great time. Primarily, I would recommend this home because of it's beautiful private pool as well as for the close proximity to both the beach and to Coligny Plaza. Whenever we needed groceries or wanted to pick up a pastry at the bakery, we just hopped on our bike (which we rented for the week and had delivered to our door), rode along the shady bike path, and we were at Coligny Plaza in less than 5 minutes. Renting a bike is a must. Potential renters should be aware that the pictures shown on this website do not do the house justice. The house is very open and full of light. When you walk in the door, you are greeted with walls of floor to ceiling windows overlooking the beautiful pool, palmettos, and live oaks with spanish moss. This house is not decorated with the typical tacky beach decor. Instead, the owners have filled it with furniture and art from all over the world. Very unique. While not "gourmet",..my family and I took advantage of the furnished kitchen and we took turns cooking dinner (waits at restaurants are too long for medicore/overpriced food). We ate in every night, utilizing the dining room table, the gas grill, as well as the outdoor seating. I would definitely recommend staying at this home.

This is such a beautiful home. Definitely NOT your typical beach house. Thick, plush towels and comfy beds - all the amenities of home with none of the stress! Great, quiet location. The pool was a godsend since we were there in the middle of a heat wave. Thank you for providing us with such a lovely vacation!

Our stay in your home was most enjoyable. It was everything you said it would be and more. We appreciated the fact that the house was located in a very quiet neighborhood and only a short walk from the beach. The layout of the house was perfect with the bedrooms totally separate from the living area. The upscale linens were a nice bonus when compared to what is normally provided at a rental home. We throughly enjoyed our week in this lovely home. The location was excellent as it was only a few houses from the beach. The pool was great and afforded areas of shade if one did not want to be in direct sun. We felt that the house was warm and inviting and we were very comfortable there. We hope to be able to retun in 2006 for another great vacation.

We live on the beach but we go to Hilton Head a few times a year to get away from the cold...and to play golf! So this vacation was the best! Great weather, great home and wonderful location...thanks for a lovely stay!
