This is a very charming, beautifully furnished, immaculate and sunny two-story home (Flat), which dead ends at a lagoon. It is in a very quiet neighborhood. Parking in the driveway is free for one (1) automobile which is a necessity in this area as street parking is minimal, especially late evening. Flat is 1200 sq. There are two large bedrooms both with pillow top Queen mattresses. One bedroom rented as a single or two guests in one bedroom at the standard rate of $165.00. per night and $185.00 on Friday and Saturday nights. If the second bedroom is used there is an additional fee of $25 per person per night. Rates start at $165 per night. Cleaning fee is $125. There is a twin mattress that can be used for an additional $5 per night, if needed. Also, there is a mini crib for a child.. The white room has a mini office/Stuy off of a walk-in closet with a panoramic view of the lagoon. The dining room and living room are combined and adjacent to a newly renovated small kitchen that is fully equipped. It has a gas stove and microwave and a gorgeous view of a huge, whimsically landscaped backyard and a small peek of the lagoon. Beautiful, original hardwood floors throughout. Plenty of closet space. The bathroom has also been completely renovated with new slate flooring, bowl sink, European bath screen with new bath tub, fully equipped linen closet and separate water closet next to Bathroom for toilet. Gorgeous diamond pane windows with wood blinds throughout. Forced air heating and a cooling system (but not air conditioning), and ceiling fans in most rooms.
What makes this flat so desirable is the privacy you can have, if there are more than two guests. The two bedrooms allow that and also the small office area off the white room for a quiet place to work as it has a door that closes. Everyone can have a place of privacy to read, take a nap, watch their own TV, have a private telephone conversation, etc. Also, you can access Netflix for movies in the Living Room TV, and a DVD on the side of the TV in Living Room. WiFi is provided. There are also in each room a luggage rack.
A walk to the beach in the morning or evening to view the skyline of San Francisco and the evenings' gorgeous sunsets makes this island unusual. Nearby there is bus transportation and a short walk to a busy downtown shopping area where there are a variety of many types of cuisine on Park Street. Two ferry locations to take you across the Bay to the Embarcadero in San Francisco. Bus nearby to take you straight to Bart. Also a new multiplex movie theater. There is quick, easy access to all major freeways, 20 minutes from UC Berkeley campus and many excellent restaurants on College Ave and Telegraph Ave, and nearby Jack London Square within a short distance from Alameda to Oakland or Berkeley. Fun to take a stroll on Park Street with consignment stores, antiques, lots of small unique stores, Thrift Store shopping. Oakland Museum nearby with great exhibits. Free the first Sunday of the month. We also have a new library that is truly an asset to Alameda. In Jack London Square there is a Farmer's Market on the weekends, also a Premier Jazz Club Yoshi's, is located in Jack London Square and many others close by venues for live music and dance lounges. Also, many upscale restaurants there and only 10 minutes away by car. So much to do in this area that is close by.

An island is a special place to live in, especially here in Alameda. I live within walking distance of every type of activity there is on the island, so it makes it possible not to have an automobile because of its public transportation choices. You never get enough of sight seeing the beautiful historic homes here in Alameda, and the various neighborhoods. It has an invigorating climate, manicured parks, homes graced by shade tree-lined streets covering the island's 12 square miles. This is a city where many people walk and bicycle around the city. Several tennis courts, paddle board lessons on the beach with wind surfing, kite surfing, kite flying, sand castle contests. There is also the Alterena Playhouse that features an opportunity for residents to act in a small intimate playhouse. A beautifully restored art deco, multi-plex theater. The population is approximately 75,000 residents. The views are breathtaking, especially from the beach. It's an island that is full of activity with many choices of what to do either here are near here since it has numerous transportation possibilities.

I have worked in the business world, in the aeronautics industry, legal, as a court reporter and paralegal on environmental law suits, in a hospital setting, in commercial real estate at the Port of Oakland for 10 years and finally found my passion in the hospitality industry as an outside food sales person, as Director of Special Events at Gramma's Bed & Breakfast just down the street from UC Berkeley campus, a wedding planner, wedding consultant, event planner, caterer, meeting planner, fund raiser for Marines returning from Iraq, At Preservation Park event site in downtown Oakland, I was booking 100+ events and meetings a month. ;Also set up an entirely empty new event site for the City of Oakland along the Estuary for special events and meetings.
Why the Owner Chose Alameda: I have kept this large property in excellent condition considering its age. It has a gorgeous double lot and is beautifully landscaped. I have done many special events here and catered, including several small weddings over the past 18 years. As people enter through the front door, their exclamations are amazement over its uniqueness of interior design and its feeling of Cape Cod or French influences.

The parking in this neighborhood after 6 PM is not easy to find so having free parking in my driveway is a real plus! Laundry facility downstairs at $5.00 per load due to the drought. Detergent is provided. The best thing is that you are able to walk or bicycle to the beach, shopping on Park Street, with many unique stores to venture into. A mall shopping area at South Shore with a Safeway and Trader Joe's, Walgreens, Redbox there to rent movies, Kohls, TJ Maxx, Ross, across the street from the SF Bay, close to the Oakland Airport, and the best weather in the East Bay area. Close proximity to entertainment venues, a large stadium for professional sports and entertainment. Easy access to transportation to San Francisco. The backyard offers comfort relaxing, tanning, and reading a book, grilling, dining al fresco. The beauty of the interior offers golden sun in the evenings and a romantic environment with a warmth of a home on the beach.
