The Mallard's Nest B & B is located three miles from historic Shelton on a beautiful inlet of Puget Sound. Shelton is a peaceful little town located between Highways 101 and 3 on the Olympic Peninsula. We are located 12 miles from Hood Canal with its lovely beaches and the hiking trails of the Olympic National Forest. For your added pleasure the Little Creek Casino is about four miles south on Highway 101. There are wonderful restaurants in the area as well as Oysterfest and the West Coast Oyster Shucking Championship the first weekend in October.

Shelton has several fine restaurants as well as fast food diners.
Our local museum's focus is on the timber industry and there are several antique and collectable emporiums for your shopping pleasure. There is, also, a lovely Native American museum featuring the history of the Squaxin Island tribe as well as their Little Creek Casino just 4 miles south of Shelton on Hwy 101.

  • Hiking, Fishing, Swimming, or feel free to bring your own water craft such as raft, kayak, or canoe. At almost any time of the year there is interesting water traffic as well as wonderfu wildlife such as deer, herons, gulls, ducks, geese, otters and seals. There has even been a whale or two spotted in the inlet over the years! Other interesting wildlife of note - clams and oysters!!!
