The palm-dotted white sand beach fronting the property is popular with windsurfers during the summer and offers exquisite sunsets. Located on the longest continuous white sand beach on Maui, Kauhale Makai is just steps from the ocean, with public swimming beaches and lifeguards minutes away.
A central common area includes five gas barbecue grills, three picnic tables, a pool with sundeck, a hot tub, and a children’s pool. The grounds also include a sauna, putting green, shuffleboard, and laundry facilities; and parking is free. Our guests are welcome to use the two public tennis courts and volleyball nets located to the south of the grounds.

Why the Owner Chose Kauhale Makai - Village by the Sea
The Kauhale Makai is a beautifully kept oceanfront property just five minutes north of our favorite snorkeling and swimming beaches at Kamaole I, II and III, where we've seen octopus, rays and turtles and every imaginable variety of tropical fish. Shopping and restaurants are close, as well as our favorite souvenir venue, the Kihei Kalama open air market across from Kam I.
The Unique Benefits at this Condominium
The gals at the front desk are an unending source of local knowledge and classic Maui aloha, and the concierge desk offers discount activities without timeshare presentations. Our unit has A/C and the world's most comfortable Murphy bed, and if we ever grow tired of ocean activities (not likely!) there's still pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, shuffleboard and tennis.

We fell in love with Maui the first time we visited for our 25th anniversary in 1997. After bringing the kids to a timeshare the following year (we have eight -- picture wall-to-wall kids! But we were in paradise together nonetheless) we decided we really needed a more permanent piece of Paradise to call our own. We go every chance we get and several of the kids have honeymooned in our beautiful place. Quite a welcome and refreshing change from our usual desert scenery in Tucson.
