Casita Colibris is a penthouse, perched on the top floor of a renovated 250-year old ruin. It can be rented as a one bedroom, one bath apartment or a two-bedroom, two bath house, that sleeps up to six people (if one couple sleeps on the hide-a-bed in the living room). Its a perfect in-door, out-door house, so popular in central Mexico with its "eternal spring" weather!! There are two terraces: one with an umbrella table and chairs for al fresco dining, and the other, up top, with chairs and cocktail table to admire the ever-changing view out over the town! You enter Casita de Los Colibris from a first of the upstairs terraces on a tiny landing, and go down 6 steps... The compact kitchen is on the right, with stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, blender, dishes, glasses, pots and pans, and cutlery. There is a little bay window over the sink. To the left of the entry is a gas heater, and the living/dining room with seven windows in three directions, most notably out over the downtown area and to the western mountains. This view is especially enchanting when framed by purple jacaranda tree in March/April... |
