Nestled in the canopy of a Magnolia tree at Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club, you will find this upscale golf villa of classic Southern low country architecture. Situated on the second floor of a two story, 4-unit building on the eleventh fairway of a Jack Nicklaus signature course, you will find a prefect place to unwind, breathe, and decompress... in an exquisite, beautiful, natural setting.
You can sip your beverage on the black rockers on the wide front porch, or in a wicker armchair on the screened back porch overlooking the course. Swim in the private pool for owners and their guests a minute's walk from the doorstep, yet far enough away from pool noise... or enjoy the Palmetto Pub in the clubhouse, just a short, pleasant walk away.
A few miles drive from the villa, you will find the oldest seaside resort in the United States. The fabled Pawleys Island remains unspoiled and non-commercial. The beach is accessible, charming and dotted with historic landmark signs with homes dating to the early 1700s. Enjoy the spacious beach and pristine salt marsh for soaking up the sun, exploring, or catching some fish and blue crabs for dinner.
This golf villa has recently been freshly painted and professionally redecorated, and is one of the few premier units with a vaulted ceiling. The two bedrooms each have private baths, making it a perfect place for four adults or a family gathering. The kitchen is fully stocked; the villa has a washer/dryer and a wet bar. The living room and both bedrooms have flat-screened televisions, each enclosed in an armoire. Wireless internet is available.
The master bedroom has a queen bed with memory-foam mattress and private bath, the guest room has two queen beds with pillow top mattresses and private bath, the bedrooms and the great room all have ceiling fans. All bed, bath and kitchen linens are provided, as well beach towels, chairs, even beach toys! Every effort has been made to provide anything visitors would have in their own homes, and many personal touches abound... because this villa is managed by the owner, rather than a rental company, there is more flexibility than agencies can provide.

For the golfer, more excellent golf courses than you will probably have the opportunity to play, with the celebrated, beautiful Caledonia, one of the top public courses in America, a short drive away. Award winning courses, more than thirteen within a 15 minute drive, dot the area. Many built on former rice plantations provide a graciously Southern golf experience.
Outstanding local restaurants abound, many chef-owned, with many styles and price points from which to choose. The Hammock Coast, between Myrtle Beach and Charleston, is a paradise for the outdoor enthusiast and has just been recognized as a pilot community for the SC Great Outdoors Initiative.
Georgetown, ten minutes to the south of Pawleys Plantation, was founded in 1729 and is one of the best preserved antebellum towns in the south... The rice plantations which surround this entire area were owned in their heyday by the wealthiest and most influential people in the country. History abounds here; history buffs are delighted. Dubbed 'Little Charleston', you can choose between boat tours on peaceful rivers past the plantations, watch independent films or live theater at the Strand theater...enjoy shelling and lighthouse cruises, guided history tours, a ghost tour, the Maritime Museum, The Rice Museum, and sunset cruises... and many charter fishing excursions are based in Georgetown.
Also available in the area -- sporting clays, skeet shooting, outstanding birding, endless fishing -- fresh water, surf and deep sea -- paddleboarding, kayaking, parasailing, boating, surf camps...
Ten minutes to the north, known worldwide, lies the 5,400 acre Brookgreen Gardens, offering not only breathtaking gardens and garden sculpture, but history programs, creek cruises, children's programs, concerts, classes...the adjacent Huntington Beach State Park is one of the birding hotspots on the east coast, and the beach, miles long, is beautiful, pristine and uncrowded. On the way home, stop in Murrells Inlet for some of the best seafood on the east coast...The Murrells Inlet Marshwalk is a boardwalk on the banks of the Inlet, and allows visitors to truly experience the salt-marsh ecosystem along with restaurants, shops, parasailing, jet skiing and fishing excursions. Those that favor nightlife and outlet malls can find all this at Myrtle Beach a half-hour to the north of Pawleys...
Visit the famed Hammock Shops just up the road -- created in 1938, a collection of unique specialty shops and restaurants, and home of the famed Pawleys Island Hammock...Food shop at The Fresh Market, farmers markets and several fresh fish markets in Georgetown with the shrimp boats docked outside, just unloading their catch...
Beautiful, charming Charleston, an easy hour's drive to the south, has been named the prettiest city in the country, and is a delightful way to spend a leisurely day.
Or just unwind... Listen for the breakers at Pawleys Island from the villa... play with sandpipers on the beach... watch the sun rise over Pawleys Island, or the sun set over Pawleys Plantation from the beach, creekside.

Why the Owner Chose Pawleys Island: My primary home is in the Southern Pines/Pinehurst, North Carolina, on a championship course, where golf is king in this area. But at Pawleys, with the ocean minutes away, the benefits are doubled -- a perfect place for not only golfers, but family gatherings or friends' getaways.
