Georgetown lodge description

Spacious lake view log home on 5 acres with private boat dock. Awe inspiring, 280 degree view of Georgetown Lake, Continental Divide Mountain Range and the surrounding forests. Ideal for peace and quiet. Neighboring homes all around, but far enough away to allow privacy. Walk 100 yards to the lake for summer or winter sports activities. Discovery Ski hill is a 15 minute drive from this home. It's the best kept skiing secret in Montana and is often praised as the best skiing, most reasonable prices. Old Works golf course is 1/2 hour drive to Anaconda. It is a Jack Nicklaus signature course, and a challenge to the best golfers. The lake offers boating, swimming, outstanding fishing both summer and winter. Ice fishing is popular here. Two restaurants close by serve burgers, sandwiches, steaks and breakfast. The small community of Philipsburg is 20 minutes to the west and has shops, restaurants and entertainment. This is the most beautiful home on the lake with by far the best view. Come and enjoy! This is a smoke free home. Smoking is permitted outside the house. Please dispose of cigarette butts properly as fire danger is always high in western forests. Check in is at 4:00 PM and check out is at 10:00 AM. No tents or campers are allowed on the property. Day events (weddings, family reunions, etc) are allowed at no extra charge unless additional cleaning by the manager is required as a result of the event. If the tenant's guest list exceeds 40 people, the tenant is required to rent a portable toilet to accommodate guests during the event. Tenant may do this by requesting a number from the property manager. The tenant is liable for any damage to or loss of property caused by the tenant or the tenant's guests. Therefore purchase of damage protection is recommended.

What a perfect way to get away from it all and spend time with friends! The lodge hosts a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Although our stay was far too short, there was plenty of time to sneak away for walking in the snow or skiing or, for the non-sports people among us, a quick drive into town for a fabulous massage. The main room was big enough for our group to sit around the fire for hours and share stories - bedrooms were comfortable and private. I cannot wait to revisit in the near future! Thanks for sharing your home!

We are heading back to the cabin for our third visit. Our first was our honeymoon. We loved the quiet, peacful solitude of the area. The 360 view is breathtaking. The second visit was during the summer and we took in the wonderful community activities. Our third stay will be for my wife's 50th birthday. The cabin has become a special place for us with friends. The amenities are warm and inviting. The fireplace is spectacular at night with wine and friends looking at the pintler mountains.

The home was clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped. Basement bedrooms were spacious (wish they had queen beds rather than doubles). Manager was attentive and available for any questions or concerns. We had a delightful time at this lively home.

Manager response: Thanks Alicia, for your positive review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you again soon at Rainbow Point! You are the first reviewer to suggest larger beds in the lower level, and when these beds are scheduled for replacement, we will get queens instead of doubles in those rooms. Thanks for the tip. The Morrises.

I have stayed in this beautiful home several times, and every time is better than the last. There is plenty of room for a family reunion or getaway with a large group of friends. Cooking in the kitchen is a real treat -- it is better stocked than my own, which is saying something! The setting is gorgous, and you will relax immediately after walking in and seeing the panoramic views. I can't wait to go back!

I have had the privilege of being a guest in this home many times. It is hard to know where to begin to describe the home itself, let alone the beautiful surroundings. When first entering the home you feel welcomed - as if you have truly "come home." You see a huge living room, welcoming fireplace area, but then your eyes are quickly drawn to the amazing floor to ceiling view out the windows. A walk-around deck allows you to get outside and take a closer look at the mountains, wildlife, and scenery. You will have a hard time deciding where to sit and relax to get the best view. Back inside the home, a gourmet kitchen is ready for use and makes any simple meal or complex meal a delight. Cozy rooms on the main floor, upstairs and downstairs await when you are ready to rest so that you can begin another amazing Montana day.

I've spent time at this cabin in the summer and winter and it's just gorgeous! We've spent New Year's Eve with friends - the kitchen is great to cook in - lots of room and the appliances are the best!! There's plenty of room for big gatherings and it was nice that we could all find something fun to do! Some of our group went skiing, sledding, ice fishing and others just hung out in front of the big fireplace.

Manager response: Thanks Katie. Glad you enjoyed your stay at the lake home. Thanks for the reminder of all the winter sports available and close. Just a 10 minute drive to the ski hill, and the lake is just down the hill. We hope you will come back and spend more time in the house sometime soon.

I've spent time here both seasons. Skiing 10 min away, snowmobiling & dogsledding wintertime, boating fishing in the summer. Awesome cabin, spectacular views Pintlar & Continental Divide. Great walking, drive around the lake, sledding in winter. Anaconda has supplies , thrift stores or wetting your whistle or Philipsburg other direction down the mountain has Antique stores small festivals from time to time and bars with live bands. So close enough to town & far enough to feel like a get away!

I came here with several of my friends for a weekend retreat and this cabin was more than we could have asked for. There were the 5 bedrooms but more beds and space than we really needed. The price was unbelievable, also. When we booked this cabin we were not expecting to get such a spectacular view of the entire mountain range over the lake. You can see part of the Discovery Ski area and it is not far from where this cabin is; I really want to book it again for a ski weekend. Thank you so much for this experience, I hope to deal with you again!

                              Manager info

                              Year Purchased: 1993

About: We will give you information about the owners, but you will mostly be dealing with the on-site manager, Cora Wyant, who lives near the property. Cora is a friendly, capable manager and cleaner and will do what she can to make your stay the best vacation you've ever had. I, Bob Morris, grew up in Anaconda and after college I spent my career in Mexico and in Southern California working in the aerospace & electronic industries. I returned to the community of my birth after retirement. Home again! My wife, Joan grew up outside Chicago and has lived in Montana for the past 40 years. She was Director of the Western Montana Metal Health Center. We are currently retired and reside in Anaconda in the summer and San Diego, CA in the winter.

                              Why Georgetown:
We built this house after selling our electronics business in San Diego. We first owned a smaller house nearby but I always envisioned spend my final years on a mountaintop to see the sun come up in the morning and go down in the evening to fish, ski, hike and snowmobile right out my door. It's a dream come true.

The Unique Benefits at this Lodge:
We built this house 20 years ago and we never get tired of the magnificent view over the lake. And to see the wonderful mountains, forests and animals and experience the beauty and craftsmanship of a log house is beyond description. if I had it to do over again I would not change a thing, neither the location or the house itself, there is nothing to compare it with. Western Montana is in a class all of its own and luckily it is still relatively undiscovered. We are so pleased to be able to share it with you.
