This beautifully renovated, unique Provencal villa, is situated amongst peaceful countryside in the valley of the River Sorgues. Set independently within its own large garden, it provides ample, comfortable accommodation for 10 people. The local town of Le Thor has all the ambiance of a typical local french town, with a morning market for fresh produce, bakeries, cafes, and for convenience, a large supermarket. There are also many Caves Degustation for wine tasting and buying exceptional local produce.
Fontaine-de-Vaucluse and L'Isle sur-la-Sorgue, with its colorful antiques markets and outdoor restaurants and cafes, is only 10 minutes away. The meandering River Sorgues provides the opportunity to fish, canoe and enjoy the local walks. In the centre of town is the impressive Romanesque church Notre-Dame du Lac, and just outside on a hill amidst oak forests, are ancient tower ruins, perfect to get a view of the surrounding mountains, including Mt Ventoux, the Dentelles, the Luberon and the Alpilles, all within a half hour drive.
Unique in its design, one of The Apple Orchard's greatest assets is space. A central sweeping staircase takes you up into a huge, impressive open-plan living area, with high beamed ceilings, a large central fireplace, all set against beautiful limestone floors.
All doors and windows orientate out towards the garden with the balcony terrace stretching out as an extension of the lounge, furnished with a large table, chairs and comfy cushions. Perfect for all outdoor dining with floodlights to create the perfect evening ambiance.
A stylish, fully equipped kitchen, with granite work surfaces and bar with stools, also has a door giving direct access to the outdoor terrace. There is an indoor dining table and chairs set aside from the main lounge area which is furnished with comfy sofas, coffee tables, satellite TV and a library of useful guidebooks and information.
Upstairs there are three large double bedrooms, one with an en-suite bathroom with water closet, walk-in power shower, luxurious Victorian bath; the other bedrooms consist of two twin beds and one double, both sharing an en-suite bathroom between them. Downstairs are a further two double bedrooms, both with beautiful french doors leading directly out to the garden terrace, sharing a modern bathroom with water closet and limestone power shower.

About the owner: Peter and Audrey Jakobsen bought The Apple Orchard in 2002 and established their property letting enterprise 'Provence Seasons' in 2003. They have been renovating this incredible villa for more than 10 years, which has been a labor of love incorporated into a lifestyle of living and working in France and raising their two boys, Troy and Ryan.
